I've had a horrible pain on my right side for two days now... no fever, just a horrible ache... could be just gas, although, doesn't feel like that, anyone know which side your appendix is on?

Your appendix is on the right side. It's at the point where the small and large intestines meet. If you are having pain, go get it checked out NOW.
There is a saying about the appendix. If you lay flat on you're back on the floor, and pull up you're left leg and the pai eases, that is you're problem. Same when you pull up you're right leg. Pain is supposed to ease.
I would not hold too much to this however...many nurses tell people to try it i hear at the hospital (friends only of course)
Also gas can put you in the hospital! If you think it may be a gas "bubble" do a yoga pose in the position of a cobra. Flat on the floor on you're belly (if you can) and raise the front part of you chest and head off the floor with you're arms, slowly!
These methods have worked.
But for the apendix the only way is to have them out. There is not test really, it all depends on the area the doctor will push, it should hurt pretty damn bad...tender, and you're pain.
I just told you about these two. I agree with Venus, you need to see a doctor if it has not growled and broken into gas yet!

If it is your appendix the pain should intensify (usually a lot) if: you jump up and down/lie down have someone slap the bottom of your foot mildly, or if you press on the area. Usually its an overwhelming debilitating pain, and the longer you wait, the worse it is/will be.
The usual suspects for appendicitis include increasing pain in the right lower abdomen, fever greater than 100.5 F, and vomiting. A CBC can determine if you have an elevated white blood cell count (a sign of infection). A CT scan of your abdomen and pelvis will also be needed.
Other things to consider include an ovarian cyst, a torsed ovary, pelvic inflammatory disease, a kidney stone, a urinary tract infection, or, as mentioned above gas/constipation.
I recommend seeing a doctor immediately if you are not better. Good luck.
Its not my appendix, I have a kidney infection.. I went to the base doctor today... but it took half a day to be seen!![]()

Did your doc give you a prescription for pyridium? If not, you can get it over the counter. I've seen it under a couple of different brand names. The active ingredient is phenazopyridine and it is usually located in the feminine hygiene aisle. It will make your urine and (sometimes) tears bright orange, but it helps dull some of the burning pain you can get with a UTI.
Also, drink lots of cranberry juice and water to help flush the bacteria out of your bladder.
Feel better soon!

As someone who is prone to UTI's, I feel for ya. The pain is so horrible that you can't sit, stand or lie down. Definitely, drink tons of water to keep flushing out bacteria and try the AZO cranberry pills.
One thing I'd like to also point out is to watch the sugary drink intake (i.e. soda, gatorade etc.). This seems to lead to a lot of sediment gathering in your tract. I used to drink Mt. Dew by the gallon and, even though I also drank a lot of water, I still wound up with infections all the time. My doc told me that the sugary drinks were a contributing factor. Now that I don't eat sugar at all, I have not had an infection in almost a year.
Feel better!
