    Default wierd problem... sweaty palms...

i have renauld's (sp), it causes horrible circulatory problems in your hands, and possible early onset of arthritis... and one typical accompanyment of it is you get clammy palms... this makes grip for polework difficult for me, and i feel bad for girls who dance after me... upon going to a dermo she only told me that i could take pills for it, which might mess up the rest of my skin and hormones, i could get botox injections, or i could undergo an expensive surgery to cut the nerve... but it might grow back and not work anyway or i could risk further paralysis of my hands (cant do... would prob mess up my painting ability). any other girls have this problem? could you recommend some techniques to help the situation or treatments?

How did you find out about renaulds? I have this problem, but also with my feet - they sweat so bad I`ll slip out of my shoes! Do you also have this problem?

I saw a news program where something like electrolysis was used to fix sweaty hands....maybe acupuncture too?

I have sweaty feet and hands so I used foot powder and carry tissues around....after I wash my hands I snag a paper towel to wipe my hands on.

My sister has that. Because of bad circulation, her hands will turn bright red (esp. the fingers not really the palms as much) and will be hot to the touch....as if she had been running them under scalding hot water.... Then a few minutes later they would be blue and cold to the touch as if she had them in the freezer for hours. It's crazy. She hasn't mentioned it in awhile. She's a nurse also.......I'll ask her about it.

For sweating, I was told at a class for interviewing, that if you get sweaty hands rub Witch Hazel on them. It helps shrink the pores as does wiping your hands with alcohol wipes. Witch Hazel doesn't dry out your skin like the Alcohol will though. Also as far as I know it's a quick solution......I'm not sure how long it would work for and how often you would have to apply it to keep your palms sweat free. I suppose it's worth a try though...

Does your club not do a stage clean up? If they do maybe arange it so they have you on just before that way the pole is rubbed down for the girl after you. Or maybe see if you can arange to dance before a friend and your friend can bring a papertowel on with her and wipe the pole down and make it kinda seem sexy like work it into her act... a couple of the dancers at my club do this... one girl make it look like shes jerking off the pole and wiggles her ass in just the right way guys love it.

Sorry i cant offer any advice for the sweating... i have heard acupuncture works though...

Have you tried something like Dry Grip? It dries up your hands a bit...golfers, bowlers, and pole dancers use it!

thanx for all the help... dry grip sounds interesting... and to reply to CallMeSky, it runs in my family... it was my first suggestion to look into when i went to the dermo... and she said im probrobly right due to many females on my mothers' side having it. yes my hands are always freezing cold, feet as well, and when i come in from the cold in the winter they swell, turn red... and send shooting pains up my arms for 30 minutes... its pretty excruciating! i just love the pole and wish there was a way to get more grip... im scared of botox, electrolysis and accupuncture... arent they VERY pricey?

My dad had a machine that he used nightly for about 6 months, and it fixed his sweaty hands.
It basically electrocuted them a bit...two wet pads in plastic casing that was plugged into the wall. Don't know a brand name, but I'm sure it'll turn up in Google...it was a good 10 years ago, and his hands are still non-sweaty, so it works, and I doubt the machine cost more than $100.
