Default Deja Vu/Crazy Horse, New Orleans

I'm about to make my annual Halloween trip to the big easy, not to let some stupid Hurricane fuck up my plans!
I normally work at the Crazy Horse on Bourbon, which used to be owned by the Gold Club on Iberville. I just checked stripclublist, and according to that, it has been bought by Deja Vu! WTF???
Can anyone validate that? I realize that anything on SCL needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but this wasn't in a customer comment. If so, this means Deja Vu owns every feakin' strip club on Bourbon except Sho-bar, Ricks, and Big Daddy's!
Anyone know which clubs in the Quarter will be open for Halloween?
Maybe I'll have to submit to the Deja Vu corporate machine, after all.........

    Update :

I just called the club, they are open, and there has been a takeover! The managers are Wolf, Brent, and Kenney. Anyone have any experience working with these guys?
For anyone who wants to know - the club is open from 12 - 2 am, and shift fees start at $55 if you work 7 hours, up to $75 if you work less.

Deja Vu is pretty good.. I worked there last night. There are 3-4 clubs that were bought out by the same owners of Hustler. I wanted to work at Hustler last night but there were too many girls. They try to keep the number of girls even throughout the diff clubs so I went across the street. I made 600+ easily after tip out and everything.. There is a curfew in NO right now so clubs are getting shut down between 1-1:30 to give them time to packup and get on the road to go back home...Money is good right now! Msg me if you have any other questions.. Just bring ur SS card and stripper bag!

My younger brother went back to NO 3 weeks ago. He told me anything that is open is packed, and that it's one big sausage fest (I would presume is good for $$$, but bad because of guys behavior).

Is that the same Wolf from Hustler Baltimore? Its not a usual name. Why are they charging girls such high fees to work right now? Has the city recovered so much that the selfish greedy Deja Vu pricks need to be taking housefees yet?????

I liked working with Wolf though, he hooked me up with a couple of good VIP's in Baltimore, but I think other dancers on this board might not have gotten along with him (I only worked with him a few days.)

I'm totally up for going back, depending on World Series in Houston, and as long as I'm back by November 8.

Is Rick's open yet? Who's in with me for splitting a room???

Yep, 55-75 bucks is a chunk, but if I can pull in 600, it's worth it. What I don't know about are the hidden fees and fines that Deja Vu clubs are notorious for. I have never worked for the 'Vu, so all my opinions are bared on hearsay.

It just frightens me that they almost have a monopoly on Bourbon St strip clubs. Pretty soon, any dancer that wants to work at a nice club on Bourbon will be forced to work for them. How soon will it be before the house fees start soaring, because they're the only game in town?

I will report when I return!

If it's the same Wolf who used to work at Hustler Baltimore, he was cool as a floorman but became a real prick when he got promoted to manager. Typical. HE was the worst about imposing random bullshit fines for stuff we'd previously been TOLD to do by the general manager.

    Down with Deja Vu!!!

Deja Vu bought out Scarlett's too.The only good places now are Rick's and The Gold Club.

Ive been back to bourbon working for the past week and Im making good money, but the cops are being extremely anal about the curfew.. Most places are shutting down between 1-1:30 so that ppl are off the roads by 2... I got pulled over last night and got 3 citations bc I got lost in the ghetto, took a wrong turn, and couldnt find the interstate. I stopped at one stop sign, but there was one right after.. I didnt even fcking see it, and they pulled me over...(forget my lisence in my pants from partyin over the weekend, no seatbelt, and didnt stop at that sign)Also girls coming here from out of town have to also consider that there are like NO available hotels and whatnot, so please keep that into consideration. A lot of girls are coming back home to work and a lot of ppl are moving back home. I can imagine there will be good money here for a while, but Im sure a lot of the dancers will return here.. feel free to PM me for questions.. everyone have a great week! xoxo

I would advise any dancer headed to NOLA to be advised of her legal rights & demanding accomodations from the club if she's not with friends......last I heard, the Ninth Ward flooded again & compromised social services mean predators taking advantage...I went through this after the supertyphoon on Guam, so I am not just saying this to be a nebbish.
You could come home sick or beaten up and I doubt these clubs will give half a sh*t. Be careful.

    Okay here's my report:
I worked at Crazy Horse, now called Showgirls. Housefees range from 55 - 75 bucks. Table dances are 10, you keep all, easy to sell. Private dances are 30, club keeps 5. Problem with this is that instead of giving the bouncer the 5 at the time of the dance, he acts as a bean counter, and you pay for all your dances at the end of your shift. Tip him, and he may 'lose count'.
So, if they want to fine you, they just add on to the amount of dances you did, and you pay for more dances than you actually did at the end of the night. If your doing 15-20 dances a shift, a few extra added to your 'bill' are easy to overlook. Some things you get fined for are being late for your stage and lingering in the dance booth (I refuse to call it a Beaver Booth). But, this is just what I was told by other girls, I committed both of these crimes and did not get fined. I think maybe they just fine repeat offenders.
I didn't really have enough downtime to meet the managers and determine if they were asses or not. All the staff, including dancers and housemom, were polite and friendly.
The money comes easy. I had guys asking me for dances as soon as I was done with another, easy hustle.
The quarter is as safe as it ever gets. There are literally hundreds of NOPD, state troopers, and National Guard everywhere. Cruisers and HumVees line Bourbon St. It's a little eerie. I would definitly NOT stray from the quarter, though. The 2 am curfew is strictly enforced, with cruisers with sirens blaring clearing the streets. There are a few local bars (off Bourbon) defying the curfew and keeping their doors open, so it's still possible to get a beer after work. The officers and guardsmen are fully aware of these, as they come in for water and sodas, so I assume there is some sort of 'arrangement'.
I can't recommend any hotels, but I imagine they are all full, because almost everyone I danced for was an out-of-town worker of some sort. I rented a tiny furnished apt with no problem whatsoever, for less than I usually pay for a hotel Hallween weekend.
About half of the stores and restaurants are closed. The restaurants open have a limited menu, and some have jacked their prices.
I have so many stories from this past week, but this is the relevant stuff to Club Chat. No matter what, though, the good, the bad, the ugly - I wish to god I was still there.

Yeah, you can count on the whole club scene here in New Orleans to become trashier now because of this new advent.I'm sorry, but really classy places don't do dances for $10.

I think it's safe to say that the strip club industry in New Orleans is seriously on the decline now. That's a damned shame.

I bet they will increase it once the city picks up. For $10, stand on the podium and do airdances, it will add up. Plus, at GoldClub, I kept them in those mini-VIP's as long as possible, so most of the time I made that $25 a song (or whatever it was at the time.) Upsell!!!!

Are they doing any champagne rooms with timed rates?

As for the 'there goes the neighborhood' theory, Deja Vu bought the neighborhood. Expect any less? Besides, they probably will jack it up later. Either that, or the customers will start to go to the Deja Vu bars instead of the $20 table dance bars. Business will drop off, girls money will drop, and everyone will be under Deja Vu's thumb. Just my doomsday theory, though.
I had no problem with the $10 dances. Customers didn't expect much for 10 bucks, so I could literally stand on the podium and wiggle with no contact, and sell song after song. The DJ keeps the songs relatively short. There was very little downtime for me, very few songs where I was sitting and chatting instead of dancing. Besides, most of my sales were the $30 dances. They were about 50% of my sales, with the other half being split between table dances and Vip rooms.
Yeah, of course I would rather get 20 a song for table dances, but I see the $10 table dance as a way to upsell. Consider it an appetizer.
