Angry The case of the dishonest floorman...

So, i work at a fairly small club, and we only have one floor guy. I used to think he was a great floorguy until i started checking up on him and his practices.

i told him one of my regulars was coming in one night and to get a champagne room ready for us, and to not tell anyone else about it, as at our club not a lot of big money comes in and the girls swarm the custies that are loaded and scare them off.

not an hour later i had 2 girls come up to me askign when this custie was coming in. that was the first straw...

the second straw was when i found out he was a skinhead. a group of black men came into our club and he ame over and said "great i have to wait on niggers tonite." straw number 2.

straw number 3... i found out that he was stealing the dancers tips when custies were paying with their credit cards. instead of giving it to the dancer, he would keep it himself. and seeing as we dont watch the custie sign the recipts, we dont know if they are tipping or not.

so this brings me to the resolution. how do i bring this up to management, if at all? i dont want to come off as if i have a vendetta against him (which i do after lying to me and stealing my tips) i know it has happened to other girls too but they havent told managemnt either.

    any thoughts?

Damn. The first two things you really can't do much about with management. So, he's a gossip and makes tasteless comments. Just hold yourself to a higher standard.

On the subject of stealing credit card tips. You don't know who else is in on this one. A gentle way of letting management know, without making accusations, would be to approach with a comment like, "Hey, I was wondering, do customers tip on credit card receipts alot?" or, "Who does the tip money from credit card receipts go to?" Then a discussion will be open with your GM or whoever and you can start to see the big picture.

(***I've worked with my share of shady managers***)

^^^ plus, why not ask the custies themselves? You can even efign ignorance and ask if they ever fill out the "tip" part and who does it go to?
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

well now that i know better, i mention to the custie that if they are going to put a tip on the cc, they need to specify who it goes to.

Hmm... don't get me wrong, this guy sounds like a real prick, but I know that at ALL the strip clubs I worked at, the funny money tip goes to the floor host. If you want to get tipped, they have to run extra funny money "IE u charge them more." A good way to deal with this is to have the waitress who runs your money ask your customer how much they would like to tip you. Say a VIP is 200 dollars, and he says he wants to give you a 60 dollar tip. The credit card slip would look like this:

    Charge 260
    Tip
    Total

So he can still tip the floorhost if he wants, but you allready got your sixty dollar tip, does that make sense?

I don't have any thoughts, just a question. What makes you think he's a skin head by a racist comment? It's been my experience that not all of us skinheads are racist, not all racists are skinheads etc...
Just because a guy shaves his head and calls blacks "niggers" does not make him a skinhead, it simply makes him a racist with a shaved head....Now if there is a HUGE swastika tattooed on his bald head, then there might be a reason to associate him with a group of skins...

Do you have a regular you can trust ? If so, have him do the tip thing on a credit card and if the floorman steals it have the customer go to management about it.

That way you don't have to be the one to rat out the floorman.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, since when is a racist automatically a skinhead? Does that mean they are also automatically in the Ku Klux Klan? What about someone who is only racist against a couple ethnic groups, are they a skin head too?

I have never worked for a club that the dancer got the credit card tip, it either goes to the floor man running the credit card or the waitress. I agree with just buying extra dances on their card if they want to tip you.

    Um, not to sound mean but are you tipping out at least "fair" to your bouncers on a regular basis before this happend? I ask this because alot of time when girls are "cheap" on tipping out,the bouncer gets gilted towards you in general. If he knows a good $ custy is comming in,and he can get another girl,who on a regular basis tip him out "good",he will tell her so she and he can make$. Thats why I think he informed other girls on his arrival.Clubs are usually about I'll scatch your back if you scrath mine so to speak......Now if you are a good tipperand so on, I'd definatly stop tipping him out good. Let him know he screwed your $ now tou'll screw with his. About the cc,I dont know how that works,and it sucks he got away with that. Next time rule of thumb,keep good $ custys a secret from ALL! Sorry if this sounded mean,I didnt intend that. I take good care of the people I work with ($) in turn I make good $. Again,this wasn't personaly directed towards you just an obsevation of how things work.(in my clubs) :-}

Can someone post a link or two that explains how skinhead doesn't automaticly equal racist ?

All my life I have been taught and had experiences of the two be mutually exclusive. Even the dictionary defines skinhead as racist.

If there is a new movement of skinheads that isn't racist I am interested in broadening my knowledge and views raher than just keep thinking in "old school" terms.

    Thanks!

I was aware of a similar situation only it was a duo of waitresses and a bartender that were the culprits. They would simply add a zero to the "tip portion" to increase their tips or claim the double the surcharge. I saw this happen with a tab I was on and mentioned to the customer (feigning ignorance of course): you are so sweet to give X a $300 tip! It turned out a manager was involved as well, which I kinda figured since the floor manager has to sign off on the tabs. Which is why you should tread lightly in the case of telling management. As for the other two items:

Front him out on it, if you won't lose your job on it. Tell him you appreciate neither his telling other dancers about your custy or his ignorant comments. You're not going to change anyone's attitude, but at least he'll know you're not down with his cause. Or call him one. That's always a fun time.
