    Default Good club gone bad.

So I guess I quit this weekend! I went in Friday as usual, to discover that two days before, both of the managers quit, the good DJ's quit, and the remaining manager is a rude, condescending jackass. Fridays are usually the good nights here, but the manager and DJ kept running 3-for-1 specials every 15 minutes or so. So we were all working three times as hard for less money, and no one wanted to buy VIP's or anything but 3-for-1's. Even the top earners weren't making anything; I went home with $160 for the hardest, most vicious hustling I've ever had to do. And half of it was from a guy I met OTC who has a crush on me. (And he came in his pants during the dance - EWWW.)

To top it all off, the DJ has never done this before and he SUCKS. He was cutting off songs by just hitting "stop" at some completely unpredictable point, often right in the middle of a move, leaving a big silent gap. The songs kept skipping with big silent gaps in the middle. And he kept putting in a CD, letting the first track start, and then just skipping it until he found the song he wanted. It was perfectly awful.

There's a new floorman too, and he doesn't pay very close attention to who is giving dances and how many. He just marks down whatever he thinks it probably is, with the result that some girls might get charged for dances they didn't sell.

Saturday night no one wanted to buy and I just was not in the mood to beg for 3-for-1's. The manager kept yelling at me to stop giving him "attitude" and get out there, but I just shrugged him off. I'm not living on this money and I didn't feel like begging, especially since most of them didn't speak English anyway. Eventually my friends came in and we had a terrific time - I even did my first two-girl show - but when they left at 12:30 I packed up and left too. I don't think I'll be back.

So now I have to find a new club, which sucks. This one was convenient to my job, has low house fees, and until last week it was well-run and a great place to work. The girls all get along great and support each other, and there are cameras to make sure everything stays completely clean and extras-free. Now I have to find another club and start over. Big bummer.

Man... I can't tell you how many clubs this has happened to that I used to dance within over the years... and this is in a whole different country (Australia). Therefore, you aren't alone.

I can readily think of one club that was a good club and has since gone bad.... therefore it is for sale for $2 million AUD if anyone has that type of cash handy? It used to be a great money club... then it went 'bad' in its own way... now alot of dancers avoid it.

Just the way things go... hence the reason why I always keep my options open and never really "marry" a certain club. I always have a 'back up' club to the main clubs I dance within.

Best of luck finding another club.

It was Ultimate 10 Showgirls downtown. I have no idea what happened. I was there the Friday previously and everything was fine; the next thing I know everyone's gone and the place has gone down the john.

I was thinking about moving to a different club anyway, as the clientele here has always sucked. But I stayed because it was worth only making $200 per night or so because the place was so clean and pleasant. With all that gone, the hell with the place. I think a lot of us are leaving.

One of the good DJ's starts this week at another club and a handful of girls are going with him. He called today and told me to give him a call whenever I want to work there, so I might head up that way on Friday. And maybe this week or next I'll hit an amateur night somewhere and see how I do. Hopefully I can find a place that's as pleasant as 10's used to be.

Maybe theyll get it when all the smart strippers leave. In your 1st 2 paragraphs...talk about money murder!! I mean did the DJ want to be tipped? WTF I dont think he wanted to earn money. Maybe he was living that night to piss everyone off and go home broke.

Good decision to leave that club. Sounds like a nose dive into the poor house.

No kidding. I blamed the DJ for the specials at first but then found out the manager was telling him to do it. I have no idea why. But there's no excuse for the music situation; that was ridiculous.

And I am just not going to be bossed around and condescended to by an asshole. I am better educated and have a better career than he will ever have in his life - he has ZERO right to talk to me like I'm his retarded child. At one point when he came in the dressing room to order me to go outside for a promo, I just smiled and told him, "There's a way you talk to people, and a way you don't. That's the way you don't." And I kept right on doing what I was doing. Sorry, but I work for billionaires with better people skills than that, and I'm just not going to be treated that way.

Ughhh. Good on you for leaving! I wouldn't be able to stay in that kind of environment either. The transition does have the potential to be stressful because this is the only club I've ever worked in, and I just started part-timing there a couple of months ago. I didn't think I was quite ready to move on yet. But I suppose I'll have to just dive in and hope the water's deep enough!

it is rough and the club I left was the ONLY one in Indiana i had ever worked in. I had been there close to 5 years off and on.

The first 3 days are rough but seriously i was doing well after the 1st day.

and i went all by my lil' ole self

sorry about your luck with your club... it doesn't sound like a good situation.. i think its time to get the hell out and jump up to a higher establishment, where you will be treated with respect from your employees.... from some of your previous posts, you mentioned you were new to dancing and the club you were working at was farily mid tier... honestly, the majority of the time, if you work in an upscale gentleman's club, you won't have to deal with as many seedy people.. at least thats why i have come to find..... you will make so much more money too... im not telling you to go try to work at a more upscale place, i just think it may be a more comfortable situation for you....
