    Default Ahh! Gaining Weight!!!

Now this could just be me freaking out and I could be accumulating muscle mass since i had none and i've been trying to build some but.....I've gained 4 pounds or so! It's sickening to me, i've been trying to loose weight and drop down to about 116 and right now i'm at 128!! What the hell is wrong with me?

Well, if could be me eating cinnamon bread (made from cinnamon buns and cut up so you can pull it apart all nice). But that's really the only crap i've been eating, i've been trying to eat healthful and not eat a bunch of empty calories.

I'm going to say that it's all muscle i've been accumulating, but if i keep doing aerobics for the next 3 weeks and nothing happens what am i gonna do!!

Thanks for letting me vent lol, i just get so freaked out and stressed, i know that could be some of my problem too, as stress isn't good for loosing weight! Thanks for listening if anyone reads this.

sigh...I dont' get it. You girls act like you are grotesquely obese or something.

What is wrong with weighing 128lbs? did you ever stop to think that the fat has melted off, and muscle is being buit in it's place?

Actually yes, that's exactly what I have been telling myself, but if you look into the mirror it tells a different story lol! I know that i've been building some muscle, and weight is just a number, but i'm saying that I don't look good to myself. Yes, i look fine in clothes, but I truley have a little to much weight around my hips and tummy than i'd prefer. I'm not worried about it affecting me on stage, as i'm hoping it will be gone by the time i start, but also i know that guys find me attractive. And there are women larger than me and smaller than me where i'll be working, i'm in the middle.

I'm not stressed because i weigh 128, i'm stressed because I'm fat and I have issues with being fat. I'm working my best get back into shape, but it's been one hell of a time trying. I'm 5'4 and should really be somewhere around 120 tops, with muscle.

I don't think i'm obese lol, but I do think i'm a little chunky and that it looks funny since it's a bit out of proportion with the rest of myself haha. You should see it. I looked in the mirror the other day, i was all worried about my boobs because they sorta sag, and they looked fine, it was my thighs up to my belly button that looks hilarious! I look like a weeble wobble thingy!

well i guess everyone's bodies look different at all sorts of weights. the mirror never lies though, and if thats the case with you, then do something about it... you haven't mentioned anything about working out.. that may be the big issue in determining the results you want to get.... a lot of girls think that just because they dance, they are getting an "awesome workout".. yes and no..... dancing does burn off some calories, but not in comparison to a brisk hour long cardio session..... i highly suggest, if you haven't already, getting to a gym.... but i know what your saying about weight... i am 5'10 and weigh 145 and look very thin and trim.. you can't always tell what people weigh.... just don't worry and stress so much, because you'll probably end up giving up and binge eating and then you wont get down to 115 like your hoping.....

Thank you all, i'll try not to stress so much! And i do excersize, just wrote my excersize routine on my other post about excersizing in here! I guess cardio is the main point to focus on, i'm a perfectionist, and sometimes it gets the best of me lol. I'll try and up my cardio to about 45 minutes or so and see how that goes! Thanks!

Personally, I HAVE to be really thin to work where I work, or I will get put on a shit shift, so I can relate to your situation.

If I gain weight, I usually do the following for a week, but ONLY a week this isn't a good diet to go on for life:

I only drink h2o, and I only eat the following:
    raw veggies
    shrimp
    grilled chicken breast
    egg whites
    protien bars...

    (low carb, I guess)

That usually will drop 3ish pounds in a week. Hope that helps!

Also, I agree with the other girls that you aren't overweight, but again, I work in a really strict club, so I know that even an extra 5 lbs can cause major stress

The problem with weighing 128 lbs is society. Pressure to look a certain way.

Well take a measuring tape and measure yourself once a week. That way Im not jumping on the scale and scales always make me feel bad.

If you just started your routine you could be gaining more muscle mass faster than you are loosing body fat. That could be the reason for the wieght gain too.

Diet is crucial to any body lifestyle change. Maybe you just want to tone up? Im 133lbs (gained 3 lbs) and not fat either just wanna be not-mushy..ya know.

I suggest picking up a nutrition book and reading the whole thing cover to cover. Sit down at Barnes&Noble and go through the nutrition books to see which one fits you. Educate yourself on your eating habits and youll never go wrong again....unless you choose to.

actually your weight at 128 is ideal.

5'0 = 100, for every inch add 5 lbs.. Give or take 13 percent of 120.

You could be up to 135, 136 and still be ideal. (higher end, but ideal)

I dont think your problem is the scale though. I think you should work out and turn what ever fat deposits you have into muscle.

At the same time cut out sweets and replace with lean protein and veggies.

Muscle mass weighs twice as much as fat. Gaining muscle will cause some fat to melt off in the long run. If you've gained eight pounds and are not looking flabby, it's probably muscle. :-)

5'4" and 128 sounds perfect. You are definitely NOT fat. Jeez.

    Not so fast darling,
Cardio is important...but even an intense session only burns about 350 cals? If you do your math, that's not very much food you're burning off.
Weight training, and therefore gaining lean muscle mass lets you burn more calories at rest...so it seems less important since you barely burn calories when you lift weights...but it makes all the difference the rest of the day <and when you're sleeping>.
Unless you are severely limiting your calories, which i hope you aren't, cardio alone (or as the majority) isn't going to cut it.
Emphasis should still remain on diet (oh i know, i'm struggling with that one right now too), weights, and also some cardio. Good luck!

i'm having the same problem. i LOVE going to the gym and end up burning 800+cals per day. i weight train a little bit 3x/week, but my problem is that not only have i been gaining lbs, but my pants aren't fitting any better. my thighs and calfs are looking better, but i think my boobs have gotten smaller.... basically, i just want to get my ass/abs in line and everything else is changing instead. :\

dieting is the most important thing, and sometimes it's hard especially when i know i'm burning 1000 cals some days (that's like making up for 2 meals.) :\ I don't drink soda or anything, i've been eating breakfast and more chicken..... UGH. it's like, impossible.

I have been looking up a lot about it online and i decided to start taking Green Tea Extract. Maybe look into that because it can have some really good benefits if it's what you're looking for. Certainly better than other diet pills. good luck.
