Default Rusty Nail in Dog's food

So my dog was like gagging and he vomited a pile of spit. I didn't know what to do so I brought his bowl to him (he is a chihuahua) and I looked in it and there was a bent rusty nail in the food! I was horrifyed. I dunno if it came from the dog food or if it fell from the ceiling although I dnno how that would have happened. I'm really worried about my dog cuz he's my baby and I don't want him to have injested something that could tear his stomach up.

Just because he's running around and playing doesn't mean he's OK.

When he was choking....did he actually get anything up???
If he didn't then he might have swallowed the nail. You still need to get him to a vet and have him checked out!!!!! no matter what.

The trouble that dogs can't speak and some dogs also have very high pain tolerances, makes it impossible sometimes to know if they are hurting.

My friends dog loved to chase vehicles and got broadsided by a postal truck once. It didn't even phase him. He just got up and trotted back to the house. The hit had colapsed half his skull and his right ear was concaved into his head. His pain tolerance was so high that he acted like nothing had happened. Other dogs will run and play for weeks before their owners realize that the dog has a broken leg.

So please take him to the vet. It can't hurt and might save him.

Everything is okay. She said to throw away the food, and not to make a fuss out of it cuz it could have fallen from my ceiling and not been in the bag. I did move their food thanks Em! You guys r sweet.

She also asked what he was doing before he vomited I said he was roughhousing with my pom so that could have been it as well, but he is alright.

    Yeah!!!!! I'm glad he's alright.

My pup is always getting in trouble. She had a really bad rash on one of her legs and the Vet said it was probably from an allergic reaction to something she ate.

Then a week later she gets a really nasty eye infection.....uuuugghhhh....she's such a troublemaker. Always getting herself into situations that I have to get her out of.

Aww I'm sorry. My oldest dog the chi, doesn't really ever get sick, or in trouble. I just keep him up todate with reg. visits with the vet, lots of discipline and overbearing love. My new baby pom though is a pain in my butt!
