    Default Toning butt w/o making it smaller!

    Hi! I need some ideas of how I can firm my butt without making it smaller. I haven`t worked out in a while and would like to get back into it. But I noticed that when I was working out my butt was tighter and actually looked flatter, not what I want! How do you tighten that area without making it smaller?

    Lots of weights, few reps. Work it out with as much weight as you can, until you max out and can't do any more reps after 6. You'll build bigger muscles there and they will be firmer than the fat they replace.

    Squats are also great for your behind and they haven't made mine any smaller.

    Lunges...Im trying to counter act this. While I have an ass ...its just starting to pancake out instead of plump up.

    Lunges/walking lunges/in place ones...have made my butt get a lil more bu-thigh.

    squats and leg presses...with as heavy of a weight as you can stand (low reps of course). kick backs might help too.

    Omg, I need to know too! I'm scared of my butt suddenly 'falling'.

    I've been doing isolated butt clenches (one side at a time). Don't know if it's doing much, but it's kind of fun.

    Squats, Lunges, Good Mornings, Dead lifts.

    While you're at it, don't forget to work out the rest of your muscles.

    i credit lunges... oh... and more crazy pole work... strangly when i dance more my ass is crazy sculpted

    Squats, leg press, deadift - basicly any exercise that has to do with extending your legs or torso. To keep from losing your butt. Don't consume less calories than you expend.

    STEP aerobics is a great LOW-impact HIGH-intensity workout that will tone your hips, thighs & butt. Trust me, it works wonders. Also try LUNGES, SQUATS & DEADLIFTS. Hope that helps

    These are great! I do kick backs with the standing glute machine and they KICK MY ASS everytime.

    I also like walking slowly (around 3.5 mph) on a high incline to warm up. I try to "squeeze" with every step.

    Ballet!

    All those arabesques and plies give you a perfect, hard, round butt. (if you can't bear it, a squat is just a non-artistic plie... so squat yourself to butt-ville)
