So, about a month or so ago, we attempted to adopt from the shelter. Fox was a really good dog and all. But if it's possible, he was too happy and too hyper for the baby. Being that he was medium size, he towered over her, and scared her. She didn't want him anywhere near her. So, we returned him to the shelter after fostering him for the 3 days. When he got back to the shelter though, he had a WAITING LIST ready for him. He got adopted right out. Great dog, just better suited for older kids.
Friday, I was checking Freecycle and seeing what people were offering. There was a lady that needed to get her 3 puppies in new homes. It seems that her male Dachsaund (who was supposed to mate with another Daschaund that she has), fell in love with her white Labrador Retriever. LOL. So, long story short, they mated (I STILL don't know how the hell HE managed), and 3 puppies were born. I called her right away to ask her about them. There were 2 females and 1 male. She said that the smallest female would probably be best for us, since we wanted a small dog. She figures that this one will be around her father's size when she's full-grown (he's about 10-12 lbs). So, we set a time for today when we could go and meet the puppies and see if we wanted to bring one home.
Of course, we were already planning on taking her home. We went out to Petco last night and got a ton of stuff for her, necessities and toys.
We went there around 1 today and Delia fell instantly in love with her, and the rest of the dogs as well (puppies as well as the adults). It's good for her since this dog is very small and won't intimidate her. Now I just have to watch for Delia trying to intimidate the PUPPY.. LOL Don't think she will though---she's been her shadow since we brought her home, showing her where her food and water are, handing her toys to her, trying to coax her into her little bed, all that.
Now--The dilemma. We need a name. I'm totally stumped. Like I said, she's a Daschaund/Lab mix (They're breed is officially called "Daschador"). She's chocolate in color with light caramel markings on her face, snout, feet, and undercoat.
She pees when she gets excited (and we're finding out that she gets excited A LOT.. lol), so I'm hoping you guys can help me out. Dan wants to name her "Penelo-Pees", because he was cleaning up after her while I went shopping.
Pics below.. Throw any ideas you have at me!
