Hi there!
A few months ago I moved to Stamford, Connecticut for a job that quickly went away. The job market here is something between ugly and horrible. But I don't feel like moving, again. Back in college I danced my junior and senior years at a small club in Albuquerque. I wouldn't mind doing that again. I liked the money, the exercise, the attention, and the money too!
But I'm worried about a couple of things.
I've kept pretty buff since college. I'm a work-out-oholic, a dance-oholic, a jog-oholic, you name it.At just barely 30 or maybe 31, I don't think I'm the same little Chinese kid swinging on a pole like I used to be. Guys, in a kind of icky way, really ate up a 22 year old dressed like a school girl, I'm not sure someone my age would have the same effect. Do any of you have experience "restarting" your work later in life? Is there a thread on this board I didn't notice I should read?
Also I visited a few clubs in the area since I started thinking about restarting. El Amor in Norwalk, Hideaway Cafe in Stamford, and Mermaid's in Norwalk too. I know I'm in a different part of the country but these clubs felt different than where I worked before. Maybe it is my memory. I don't know. I have read some of the club reviews posted on the internet by "customers" (and why are these so often either the guy who practically lives at the club rooted to his seat at the bar, or some guy who got pissed with a girl telling him to get lost?). Do any of you have experience with clubs in southeast Connecticut, the area around Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport? I really would like to know more about the atmosphere, how it is to work around here.
Thanks! Jenna
