If I had a dollar for every time someone has told me that, "Guys love Asian girls. You must have made bank, " I'd be able to make the bank that I wish I had made while stripping. In reality, I've only had a few guys get lapdances/give big tips and specifically state that they likes Asian girls. Mostly I got a bunch of cultural misconceptions. Some guys will bow, make jokes about sushi or rice or yellow fever, show off the fact that they know one word in Korean, tell me about their army stays in Okinawa, or how much they'd like an Asian girlfriend/wife (the whole "Me ruv you rong time" stereotype, barf). I wish I had been making bank instead of trying in vain to get lapdances out of them.
I've found out that your race can get you a few lapdances, especially if you're the only black girl in the club, but for the most part, your social skills and looks count more overall. Yeah, guys like to look and gush, but are still reluctant to give up $$$ and have to be convinced. Plus, some guys don't know how to act around different races and tactlessly base their perceptions and behavior on stereotypes and media portrayal. It's kinda like preppy frat boys meeting a black person for the first time in their life and saying, "What's up my nig**." I learned to brush it off and gently correct because many of the guys don't know any better, especially if the club was in an area that was pretty racially homogenous.
However, if you've got it, flaunting it won't hurt. My stage name was Katana. I've known a Russian girl named Sasha, another Russian girl named Yelena, a couple Italian girls named Giovanna, a Greek girl named Athena, a Black girl named Chocolate, a Latina girl named Blanca, and a bunch of Asian girls with names like Lingmei, Thai, Shanghai, Mai, Miko, Asia, etc. However, make sure that your name is exotic/ethnic-sounding enough to show off your race, but simple enough that it can be remembered and pronounced by drunk guys.
