    Angry Always Sleepy

So sick of feeling like I need my mattress. I went to the Dr. and got everything checked out, everything is fine in health. I sleep enough hours. I just don't get why the hell I feel like this alot. It's annoying. I don't know what else it can be that makes me feel so sleepy all the time.

Nutrition is key to the quality of sleep you have as well.

It isn't so much the quantity... but the QUALITY of sleep that counts. There are days when I have 5 hours of straight sleep and wake up invigorated, energised, etc. Then there are those days where I require 8 hours of quality sleep.... and other days where I have 'naps' yet they are all 'quality' naps (2-3 hour sleeps).

Could it be your bed and/or pillow? They may make sleeping uncomfortable for you without knowing it... not supporting you and/or your head properly.

Lastly, look at mental health issues not necessarily physical ones. They can also come into play.

Hope we've been able to give you some assistance...

Another possible cause could be something my mother brought up being a nurse and all. She says some underlying problems prevent you from entering the REM cycle of your sleep, which is where your body repairs and rejuvinates your sleep. Might want to do a sleep study......?

I'd wonder if it was a neurotransmitter shortage. Try 5-HTP to boost serotonin levels, or drink green tea to improve dopamine. (Don't try both at once, you won't be able to tell what it is.) If you're not physically exhausted, but just keep yawning, it might be that you're running a little low on one or another important brain chemical.

Also take B vitamins! B vitamins GOOD!

Did you have any blood work done? I know I used to be exhausted constantly, but I was a healthy eater, exercised, all of that...aftre a few years of me complaining, they FINALLY did blood work, and they found out I was shockingly anemic...since I started taking iron pills, I have so much more energy (I'm fine with 6 or 7 hours of sleep...whereas before I'd sleepf or 9 and still need a nap), and I look much better too

^^^I was just about to mention anemia...I have chronic low iron/ low b12 anemia (those vitamins hurt my tummy!!), and a need for 9++ hours of sleep is a good indicator for me (as well as transparently white skin). Get a blood test- anemia is very common.

I've been really sleeply lately too and then when I get the chance I sleep waaaay too much and feel all stiff from oversleeping. I think it's stress.

Everyone needs different amounts of sleep to feel rested. My boyfriend only needs about 5 hours and is able to fall asleep right away, where as if I put myself on his schedual I am exausted all day. I need at least 8 hours. Maybe it's just due to the fact that you're simply not getting the amount of sleep your body requires. Biological factors and psychological factors may also apply as was stated above. If you're not eating, drinking, taking as many stimulants as you used to that may also be the reason. I wouldn't be able to function without my coffee and cigarettes!

Try a sleep clinic; you could have apnea or something. You might also consider your mattress. And of course, whether or not you are eating enough green vegetables.

I would also like to mention that this is common for this time of the year. Lack of sun kind of puts your body into hibernation mode. I always want to snuggle under the covers at this time of year. I think they call it light deprivation or something like that.

I know EXACTLY how you feel if not worse. I haven't worked in three weeks, (sick, clubs I don't like and just didn't want to go) and I've been feeling quite depressed and stressed out lately. There's been some days where I've been in bed for 16 freakin' hours! And on top of that, my eating habits have been piss poor. I've put on a SUBSTANTIAL amount of weight. I start back up work this week for our wonderful season of deerhunting up in the northwoods, so I hope that helps. I'm just gonna get my butt in gear with getting regular exercise every morning in the fresh air, and cleansing with all fresh fruit and veggies.

ugh I can sure relate to this, but I have anxiety so it's very hard for me to fall into a deep sleep and stay in it, especially if Im stressing over something. But once I do fall asleep and its morning time, all I want to do is sleep. I always feel groggy and cranky. I thought I was anemic too since I lost a lot of weight, am as white as a bag of flour and dont eat like I should. I got all tests done and nothing came up but with my anxiety I still keep thinking something is wrong with me physically and Im sure this negative thinking isnt helping. Its like a vicious cycle....
