    Default Brow Help

My skin is kinda fair w/yellow undertones. My hair is kinda med blonde. My brows are sparse, (the left one looks like it has a "bald" spot). Now, I'm plainning to get 'em shaped (threaded). I bought the Benefit eye lift kit w/pink hi lite pencil, & tinted brow gel applicator, but I'm not sure if I like it. I also have a NYC brand kit, w/wax & tinted powder. What works for you ladies?

I used a YSL brow pencil under a Laura Mercier brow powder duo until I got permanent makeup. Now I just make them a little more dramatic before I go to work with a little of the brow powder.

How do you like the NYC creme/powder duo? I saw those in Target a few weeks ago and I've been thinking about adding them to my artists' kit...

Oh, I meant to say about NYC kit. It's ok, like I said a cake of wax with a slanted brush, (& tiny tweezers) you apply, then the powder color. I mean for me it's just average, nothing special. The color being a lil' dark for me.

I tried the NYC one... I wasn't too thrilled with it but it was cheap so not a huge waste of $ to throw away if you don't like it. I just use a pencil... Seems to work the best for me.

Victoria Secret makes a good pencil for blonds. If you are really fair like I am and have Marilyn Monroe type hair it works well.

I always had a hard time finding a pencil light enough.

    Thumbs up Re: Brow Help

The best thing to get for those sparse looking eyebrows are eyebrow stencils. I use them on my clients all the time. They can stick on your natural brow and all you have to do is follow the stencil with either powder(taupe is a good color for dark blondes) or pencil. If you don't have eyebrow gel to keep them in place put alittle bit of hair spray on your eyebrow comb and it will keep in place all day. Hope this helps

i like using stencils...but if they stick on you have to be careful not to stick them onto any hair so you don't pull it out when you pull off the stencil.
    >sigh<
sometimes i feel like just shaving 'em off and drawing them back on. whirl mine are just like yours--blond, sparse with the left one missing hairs. also mine are entirely different shapes, the right one is perfect and the left looks like it's on crack. bitches.
i will look for the victoria's secret stuff for blondes. i use a taupe-colored pencil right now but it's easy to get it too dark sometimes, i need a lighter one.

I have dark brown hair but my brows are an ashy cool color. I can never find the right pencil or shadow because all of them made for brunettes seem to look too red and not natural. If you have dark haor, should your brows be a shade darker or lighter?

I like going a shade or two darker for evening or work, a shade lighter for day.

The Laura Mercier brow powder duo in Deep Blonde is great because you get an ashy medium blonde powder and a deeper chestnut, too. They call it a blonde but it goes on a bit darker on the skin so I recommend it for dark blondes to medium-deep brunettes (like myself). You can mix the colors together and come up with a more neutral shade for your brows.

Last time I checked it was $22 but the stuff is bottomless. I've had mine for almost two years and there's still a ton of product in the compact.

Your eyebrows should be darker than your haircolor. I have honey blond hair, I am a natrual brunette, I use shu umera eyebrow manicure. It is the best thing I have ever used. I got it from sephora. They sell it in all shades to tint your eyebrows. I have the honey colored one, and it looks so natural.

Standard eyeshadow and a good liner/brow brush. Top it off with clear mascara and you're set. It looks much more natural, you don't have clumpy little hairs with waxes, shadows at a drug store are much less expensive than "brow powders" and you have more options with colors. I use this on myself and all my girls and clients. Use as little or as much as you need - there aren't any hard lines or the "drawn in" look to worry about. A shade or two darker is always striking with lighter hair. Think a young Brooke Shields from Blue Lagoon.

I have platinum blonde hair and in a pinch I have used a plain old #2 writing pencil before for my brows...

I think it's just called lead now-- that it's actually only graphite. But still, I'm sure actual makeup pencils are better.
