I financed my car through the Mom & Pop's shop that I bought it from and I just paid it off last week. I asked the owner to report the payments and he said he didn't know how but referred me to a guy who knew what to do. He told me to be careful because he didn't know this guy well. Anyhow, the guy calls me and first gets my name wrong, then sounds really unprofessional, then says that it costs between $500 and $1000 to get the information on my credit file based on the credit line. I read otherwise somewhere online a few months back and I told him so and hung up the phone. Besides, I refuse to believe that companies pay that much per file to report information to the bureaus. That's ridiculous. Does anybody know what I can do to get this information on my file? Please help! I'm pissed!![]()
