Default what NOT to do on stage

The first few weeks I danced, I looked so stupid on stage because I had no idea what I was doing and no one told me how dumb I looked. I bet they just laughed their asses off when I wasn't looking.

My biggest no-no was lipsynching to the music. It's not sexy ... EVER.
    I spanked myself.
I retrieved tips with my breasts.
I did shoulderstands and moved my legs like I was riding a bicycle.
    I licked my nipples.
I borrowed moves from my Pilates class.
Club dance. Like a white girl.

I'm feeling sick to my stomach just thinking about this. The manager had to pull me aside and show me how to move like a dancer. She felt bad for me.

Anyone care to add to the list of things newbies should not do?

    Dont:
    Frown
Yell at other people from stage
Put any open genitel on stage anywhere esp. pole
    Pout on stage
    Do your hair

    Do:
    Smile
    Have fun
    Get into your music
    Look into crowd
you live like an ivy vine
you can only survive by clinging onto trees
    that's your flaw
put down some roots so you can stand on your own

    DON'T:
Undress right away. There's a new girl at my club and she always gets totally naked in the first 30 seconds whether anyone is tipping or not. I keep trying to tell her, "No tip, no strip!"

Everyone was new once. I know I looked like an idiot when I started. Nobody, not even a manager, was nice enough to pull me aside to give pointers. You'll get it in time, it just takes practice.

Always dance for someone and make eye contact, wether they're at the stage or at a table.
Point your toes! This is a big pet peeveof mine. It'll make your legs look longer.

No one is born to dance NUDE on stage in front of people.

Don't worry sweetie. I wore some boy shorts to my first audition cause I was too scared to wear a thong. Later, the bouncers told me I it looked like I was wearing swimtrunks. Very Unsexy. I, also, used to spank myself, dance extremely fast and unsexy, and squat (which I though looked hot) but I was later told it looked like I was trying to pee.

Just dance slow...even if it's TOO SLOW it'll still look sexy. I agree, point your toes. We danced to two songs and I always kept the gown on half way in the first song and showed off my breasts. In the second song that's when I'd show the goods. ONLY IF THEY ARE TIPPING THOUGH!

DONT Walk out onto the stage really fast. Take your time and walk slow. Its more of a seductive look. Theres a girl at my club as soon as the song starts she walks out there to the middle really really fast. ALmost powerwalking. She doesnt smile she does the half smile with your mouth closed. And she looks so serious. She does that smile for a half a sec.

DONT Pull your thong/tback down to where your buttcrack is showing. I think it looks more sexy if your bottoms are pulled up than hanging halfway down your ass. Another girl does this and shes a big girl, just doesnt look sexy.

Honestly, I've been dancing for five years, and I DO pull my t-back down half way on stage. I don't pull it all the way down over my butt, I just teasingly pull it down like I'm going to take my panties off and then pull it halfway up. I know for a fact it looks cute when I do it. (tee-hee)

I agree that it is a definite no no to lip sink on stage.

Also, if you are over the age of 30, do not dance to classic rock or 80s music. It just calls more attention to your age. Sorry, true.

I guess it really depends on which club you are at, because at the one i work at the girls do a lot of the things that you said not to do but it looks just fine. We get fully nude on stage: 1st song top off, 2cd song bottom off.
I take tips with my breasts, i have the boobs to do it
We also take them with our mouth as well
And most of us sing along to our music lol, but that's something i'm working on.
Eye contact is important, and always say thankyou when you get a tip!

I dance to songs I like, sometimes I sing to myself and my lips might be moving. I don't really give a shit at this point and I don't think the customers do either. I'm having fun and that's what exudes.

Also, see-sawing the thong, pulling it down low, etc, are very sexy moves if you have that sexy ass for them since you are drawing attention to what they want to see. If you are too "big" for that move to look sexy, then start working harder and hit that gym ladies!

Ferra, do not put dirty money in your mouth!! I'm sorry, but that's disgusting. Think about all the places your dollar has been...it's been handeled by 100s of people, dropped on the floor, put in cash registers, in someone's nose when they snorted coke and now it's in your MOUTH? oh my God! You'd be better off licking someone's shoes....that is so so so gross. It's not like, morally gross, but that's a nasty thing to do health wise

The things in bold above are ok, maybe even good to do.

Don't bounce your tits with your chest muscles.
Don't do that thing where you lay on your back, put your legs up, swing one down, then swing the other one down.
    Don't be frenetic. Move slowly.

Practice in your shoes at home BEFORE you get to work. When i GOT MY FIRST STRIPPER SHOES, i JUST HOBBLED ARAOUND THE STAGE From one pole to another. I was afraid to do anything else!

Why don't you like that Mr. Hyde? I like that move. i call it the clockwise. Anyway, I've seen it done at nude clubs, and I do it during my private dance sets.

Nobody's brought it up yet, so I will.

If your stage has a back (in other words, a 'thrust' type stage where patrons sit on three sides and a wall, usually a mirrored wall, is on the other), don't spend a significant amount of time dancing along the wall, or looking into the mirror.

Nobody back there is looking at you, mirror images do not tip you, and to the people who are watching your set, or worse yet have actually put some money on the rail, its about as cold and impersonal as you can present yourself.

I'd also like to rant a little about dancers who get a little too into their stage set (note: only applies in clubs where you interact with custies at the tip rail).

Pole tricks and other amusements are a nice attention getter early on in your set before you've began to peel clothes, but once you have that attention, (i.e. money starts appearing on the rail), go collect it. We're more than likely putting it up there because we want some acknowledgement, not because we like your moves.

Customers often will use this method to sort out potential candidates for dances. When I have money on the rail, and the dancer seems more involved with twirls, pole slides, and being humped by "air man" than accepting my tip, its a huge turn off.

Just remember, despite all the emphasis on T&A, the most important physicality any dancer has are the ones above her nose. Be sure that you use them.

I agree about practicing in the shoes, I fell the first time I wore them in the club! I looked retarded, but laughed in off! I thinking licking your tits on stage is unclassy don't finger yourself on stage, move too fast. One of the dancers at the club told me I moved too fast, and I just learned to relax, and go slow. Sometimes I will sit on my knees and lay all the way back and lay there for awhile. Make eye contact w/ custies, I love to put my leg on a custies shoulder while on stage, they love that! I don' t think it is bad to lip sych I do that when I am really into the song, not the whole time, but I will sing some of the words I get caught up in the moment. I wouldn't do exercise moves either! Soemtimes me and the other dancers will jokingly do sit ups, jumping jacks, and stuff, they pay us to compete against each other! I wouldn't go any excerise moves seriously on stage. Just have fun, enjoy yourself, and feel sexy

CK, a majority of the customers like this move because it has a beautiful shape. Any woman can do it and it looks elegant.

But, you are free to spank yourself and take tips with your breasts. Remember that among other things like Hep-C money has fecal matter on it. After the poo on the money has transferred to your breasts, lick your nipples! Because it's hottt.

I saw this last night at work this girl was being really sexy and then she licked the pole.
I almost vomited and all the guys around the stage said "ew" at the same time.
Don't lick the pole! It's probably dirtier than the dollar bills.

Maybe i've missed it but seriously I think this is so tacky and a lot of girls agree with me... Do not finger yourself on stage... speshly after you've been swinging around the pole.. its just dirty.
I like laying on my back and moving my legs around... another no no is spending to much time with the pole.
About the spanking/nipple licking... I have yet to see a feature girl(we have about 6 different ones a week) not do this...
Another no no... dont play with your hair to much.... (I still do this when im nervous i'll run my hands through my hair a lot)

I just think it's hackneyed. It's not a horrible no-no, it's just that all dancers do it and it's not original.
