Hmmm...So I just read about your ethnicity making you money. Does it work the same way. For instance, your asian...so you use the name Katana...or something else.

My stage name is Amaya. I'm Filipina/Puerto Rican. So now I don't think my name goes with my image. I think I'm gonna change it.

Who here's stage name actually get's them more $$$?

I use the name Shy... guys love it when I walk up and say 'Hey im Shy but not by nature' seems to get me a dance rather quickly.. I also play the innocent little girl act with it though.

I think it has to do with your look and personality. The overdone names (that sound like a stripper) example...... Mercedes, Lexus, Diamond, Sable sometimes causes more ridicule . Some guys are cruel!

The name Anna Hornykova always gets a chuckle and often an invitation for the guys who have heard of Kournikova. Sometimes the music is too loud or they havn't heard of her or simply don't get it.

Plus, if they ask my real name, I can say Aaaaana or Anastasia, or something russian, without even having to do a fake real name. I can't gauge if it helps buy more dances though.

I dont think moneywise there is any difference but i used to use buffie and it was soooo annoying how many people, referred to the dam vampire slayer. I changed it to kimber lee and it is just way less of a headache.

lol Buffie, I used to often get asked by guys, "Are you Doctor Darcy from Neighbours?" (Neighbours is an Australian TV show, there used to be a attractive MALE doctor on there called Darcy)

Mmhm, yep, cos clearly I'm a middle aged man with a medical degree. So annoying!

Your name doesn't really impact your sales as alot of guys will forget your name. Some will remember it. The only rules I have in re: a name is that it sounds 'real' like Tracy, Lucy, Michelle and must be able to be said/heard properly by a drunk person.

Therefore I don't use Trinity as I used it with bad effect: I was called Trinity by the club but Trudy by all the patrons/customers. Kabrina is another one I wouldn't use (but I know someone who does) and hence she is called Sabrina by alot of patrons.

I dance by Lucky at one of my clubs...it sounds stupid, but it really works in Vegas. For silly drunk customers, they like the name.....so do gambler's....I can say stuff like, "wouldn't you like to "get lucky" etc.

When customers are more serious and they say, yeah right what's your real name... I made up this story that I'm Italian (which is true) and when I was little my grandpa used to call me Little Lucky, like Lucky Luciano, because I was a little scrapper. *my grandpa has never called me lucky, that's a lie* but people seem to like it. I tell them my real name is Katie, which, again, it's not.

LOL, vegasbebe, I do the same "fake nickname" trick! Whenever they ask what my friends call me outside the club, I just shrug and smile and say, "If you heard a girl with my accent, wouldn't YOU call her Dixie?" I tell them everybody calls me that outside the club because my real name is so boring. I tell them my real name is Jennifer (which it isn't).

Hahah Yekhefah, I am a huge fan of the "fake real name." It's so bizzare, guys get so happy when you tell them your "real" name... are they really so dumb they don't know I'm just making up a bullshit name??

I'm racially ambiguous, so my distinctly Asian stage name provides a little push in a guy's interest by making it clear that I am indeed Asian, which helps if the guys likes Asian girls. It's analogous to a newspaper headline: the article itself may be great, but it takes a catchy headline to attract attention and intrigue the reader to read the article itself. Like ethnicity, the name doesn't sell the dance, but it helps. If nothing, it's a conversation starter.

Yes, vegasbebe, they are. It's not a matter of being dumb, so much as selective belief. They hear what they want to hear and believe what they want to believe, and leave it at that. After all, that's what they're paying for.

I definitely think that a name can make a huge difference in the money you make. Most guys like an entertainer to become as real as possible to them. It makes them feel special.

For instance, you could have two stage names. Here's how the conversation would go:
    Cust: What's your name?
    You: Cinnimon
Cust: That must be your stage name- what's your REAL name?
You: Well, you seem different than all the other customers- my real name is Cindy.

Giving a 'real' name with the stage name makes the customer feel important. It separates him from the 'customers'. He is now on more of a personal level with you...or so he thinks.

I find that this makes a hell of a lot more money, more than if going by 'Mercedes' or 'Coco' or 'Bambi'. The customers KNOW this is not your real name.

Sometimes girls go only by the 'real name' (not the 'fantasy name'), like: Jennifer, Kerri, Melissa, Jessica, Brittney, etc. This is just as effective, as you can convince the customer that you don't have a stage name, you go by your 'real name'.

Each to their own. I personally find that 'real names' make more money. In the long run, it also depends on the customer/club/night of the week....

It's funny that you mentioned Katana, lol. I'm not Asian, but I do dance by Kitana.

I don't really think it matters much, but I do have to agree with the real name thing, that can be a moving force in some guys.

Naw, Christy's an all-American name, but my Southern accent gets 'em most of the time...I personally think it's one or the other that gets most guys.

I have a fake real name which is Paige. I also dance by it depending on the club. My names are Carrie or Paige. If the club already has a girl by one name, I use the other so, for instance, if i dance by Paige, I tell them my real name is carrie and visa versa. I think I am going to dance by Kimber in Vegas if Paige and Carrie are taken. i am a big nip tuck fan and i like the name. lol,.

My stage name does something for me, emotionally, and for my attitude, which tends to help me make more money.

My stage name, both first and last names are very French. I'm not French really, but I look very white (ok so I'm really only half white) and it doesnt look wrong on me. I think I DO look like my name fits.

The name, to me, is classy, almost regal. I took the last name from the Countess de Winter in the 3 Musketeers book... It makes me feel very... well, Countess-like. This is a plus since I'm also a Domina.

If a customer asks for my real name and I tell them that Paige IS my real name, quite a few of them believe me. It isnt a popular name anymore, but I somehow make it believable that I really AM a Paige.
