    Default Tragedy in Daytona

A DJ at the Shark Lounge in Daytona was shot and killed last night as another club DJ, and close friend of his stood by, helpless, to watch his friend die. The extraordinarily lucky survivor but unlucky witness to the carnage is SW vet DJoser.

My thoughts are with you, Joser. Hang in there.

Oh my god. So senseless. My heart goes out to him, his family and the family of his friend. May justice prevail on the perpetrators.

It's unfortunately very true. I spoke to him shortly after it happened and quite a bit since then. DJoser is also alive and well but now a witness to the murder of a friend.

Djoser has gone through one of the most awful things a human can endure. I'm thinking of him right now...

This is incredibly sad. I can't imagine what he's going through right now.

I just don't understand what possesses some idiots to resort to this kind of violence because they got kicked out of a club.

I recently finished rereading "Chasing the Devil", the true story of a detective's 20 year hunt for a serial murderer south of Seattle. The murderer strangled at least 48 and possibly as many as 70 young streetwalkers as young as 14. Notably, he strangled all of his victims from behind. He couldn't stand to see the look of panic and fear in the victim's eyes as he killed them.

Why do I mention this? Because this sick and insane bastard shares much with Dale's killers. Both are trying to be "tough guys", but they are actually among the weakest most cowardly sick excuses for human beings around. Not worthy of puking on them.

I just read it and only now do I understand that DJoser was also shot. Stant says he is doing well? I sure hope so, seems like a very nice guy from here. Hope he recovers well and fast, though nothing but time will help his loss of his friend in his heart.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

It was evident that DJ was the object of the attack since he had kicked the two jerks out of the club that evening. Thank goodness he survived but I'm still saddened by the loss of an innocent person.

Stant.. Just so there's no more confusion.. Could you clarify a little for us? I think some are getting the impression that Djoser was shot himself. Is this so? I didn't gather that from your posts, or the article. A little more information, please.

I'm confused on this myself. I took the address of the club and the address of the shooting scene from the article and plugged them into Mapquest. If my coordinates are correct, they are a number of miles apart.

Was Djoser the one driving or did he somehow witness the shooting?

My thoughts are with you DJ. I've come 'close' to your experience in a club once, but not THAT close ! It's a shitty business, pure and simple.

I hate to mention this other point in the same post, but Daytona / north Florida dancers better be prepared for a new round of LE attention in their clubs this week !

Joser was not shot. He's working with a homicide detective and it seems this sad tale in not over. The perps mentioned in the article are not the end of this problem. I had the impression that club was not exactly a cotillion of debutantes, but god damn. He'll come online and detail this whole nightmare soon. If anyone wants his phone # to send him a txt or give him a word of support, PM me.
