Has anyone tried her makeup http://www.alexisvogel.com/? I am seriously considering ordering her "complete system" but wanted to know if its worth the purchase. I am mainly interested in her how-to dvd to achieve the perfect cat eyes.

It's crap, and not worth it. Visit a local MAC counter or store instead - a $40 purchase gives you a free makeup lesson/application.
alexis vogel is awesome. The foundation is alot like mac, but I like it better.
Never been a fan.

I used to be a makeup artist, and I prefer getting pro foundation like the kind used on movie sets and such. They come in little pots- more like a concealer than foundation in texture, but usually drier b/c less oil content. I can't use much else now because it can double as foundation or concealer and very versatile. Most people need to get used to using it, though...
Ben Nye, Cinema Secrets are some of the bigger names.

I agree that most "kits" are kinda useless. The best thing to do is to go to a makeup counter or hire a makeup artist to give you lessons. I used to give makeup lessons to dancers back in the day.
Contact wedding planners to get names and numbers of makeup artists. Ask to see their portfolio and see if they do makeup lessons. You have to pay, but usually, they can focus on teaching you instead of selling products like at the makeup counters. If you have a camcorder, you can ever record the session so you have future reference.

I love Alexis Vogel make-up, but have had a problem with their shipping dept. lately. Don't pay extra for fast shipping. I did, and it still took a week. Haven't heard back from customer service yet, either. Alexis posts somewhere on a message board, and I'm thinking it is makeup411.com., and she doesn't have anything to do with the kits anymore. They are only using her name, and she is coming out with her own line. As far as the DVD goes, I got mine off eBay, and love it! Oh, and by the way, this is my first post. Hi, everybody! I'm not a stripper, but love this board. I work with mostly guys, and this is where I go for much-needed "girl-talk". You guys are the BEST!
I've never used it, but I agree... MAC is AWESOME! I absolutely love it! I used to get pimples sometimes, and mac cut that out completely. Its really good for sensitive skin! It stays on great too. Only complaint I have is getting it off sometimes lol. But a make-up remover cloth works great. And if you buy the make-up, the lesson is free! ALSO! If you are looking for a make-up artist go to www.modelmayhem.com and look for one there. They have tons of pics and reviews. I'm on there... number 43120 if you wanna look.. lol. Hope I helped a little!

If you're going to a makeup counter to learn about application as well as products, MAC can be good, but other companies that ire very good MUA are smashbox, NARS, and also check out Sephora.
while how they wear their makeup is not always indicative of their quality of work, pick someone with makeup that you find is attractive. Even let them know what you like about their makeup and ask their technique.
