Please don't underestimate the dangers of tanning. I worked for a plastic surgeon, and I've seen too many people come in for reconstruction after skin cancer. SKIN CANCER CAN PERMANENTLY DISFIGURE YOU.

    http://www.skincarephysicians.com/ag...kincancer.html

I saw a pretty lingerie model come in for reconstruction with about 30 permanent, large scars after her skin cancer ordeal. She was 25 and a regular tanner. Skin cancer did not run in her family. Her modeling career was definitely ruined, along with her self-esteem.

IF YOU DO TAN, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GO AND GET SKIN CANCER SCREENING ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS BY A DERMATOLOGIST. It's not expensive, and it's worth the money- especially compared to permanent disfigurement.

I have heard from other people that it works pretty well too.

I'm dead pale (my nickname at school was "sombi", 'milk' -not original, I know, but it'd get me on my nerves) I'm getting sprayed on today
I'll let you know how it went.

I'm not sure if this place is available in your hometown, but if you have a chance to go to Hollywood Tans then you should try it. You go into this stall, lock up, undress and inside is an even smaller space where you tan. You do not have to lay down, you stand. Im claustrophobic so I cant lay in the bed and close it, it makes me feel like I'm in a coffin or something. It goes for 8-10 mins, but the stalls are all different in intensity and they can advise you which one you can tan in. I used to go there before summer, its fast and easy, and the lights dont get as hot which is a big plus.

It's funny since you like the tan lines, but I personally think they are so 80's and we are WAY past that, lol. I hate them, and go crazy when I do get a tan line from just being outside.

I use the tanning bed. I go twice a week and use Swedish Beauty lotions. Either one of these three; Frosted Hemp, Sapphire, or Unforgiven.

(I like the tingle, I really do!)

I'm naturally pasty white so I have to get some color for dancing IMO, without it I don't feel nearly as attractive. So for the past few weeks, I've been using and trying out different self tanners. There is one salon in town that offers Mystic Tan but it's pretty far away and pricy, plus I'm real lazy about getting such things done so chances are I'll never be trying it, lol!

So far I've tried Neutrogena's medium foam with bronzer and deep lotion, more recently coppertone's deep vanishing tint lotion. All have given me decent color, enough to make me have a nice glow. The neutrogena foam with bronzer was a great beginner product and both the self tanner and bronzer gave a nice color. I was a bit dissapointed with the deep lotion as it didn't give a very deep color but a second application the next day took care of that. So far the coppertone is doing well too with 2 applications.

Using self tanners can be a bit more time consuming but it's nice to know you're not damaging your skin or aging it faster. It works and is fairly cheap, certainly comparable to the cost of tanning salons.

For me, I am extremely pale by nature, however, my complexion is horrible so I don't look good as a "ghost girl". I tan fairly well, not to mention whenever I tan it seems to help my problem skin on my face. I don't mind a tan line, basically because I don't care how well they clean their beds, I want at least a thin layer of protection between me and whoever used the bed last. Silly, yes, but thats the way I am. LOL.

I tan, i think it makes ppl look slimer, healthier and sexier. I am not a big fan of pale skin but my hubby loves it. He always tells me he like my skin natural without the tan. I feel much sexier and better and confident with a nice tan.

I've been self-tanning for 2 years now and I've finally got it down so it takes about 5 mintues with very few mistakes. That's not including the exfoliating I do once a week, but I probably should be doing that anyway.

I'd go with the self tanners. Tanning in the beds or outside will make cellulite more noticeable years later.

If you are really pale you will get a better tan easier using self tanner.

I have been using Loreal sublime bronze in the dual chamber configuration for some time now. One side has a self tanner, the other, a bronzer. I love the color it gives me because its like a peachy brown color, not orangle like I got with neutrogena. I also use sublime bronze for face and body on my body. Its all white with no bronzer, so it takes about 12 hours to work. I do it before I go to sleep and it works very well especially on my arms, chest and stomach. I also like to use jergens natural glow. I put a thick coat of it overnight and it gives me a good tan in just one application. These products give me the best color without making me look orange and can be found in a drug store at a cheap price
