Sad Should I feel really guilty about calling off?

I HATE having to call off work. Right now I work a "norma day job" and I'm dancing usually 2 nights a week. I almost never call off work. Halloween week I worked all weekend (both jobs) sick as a dog. But this week due to scheduling conflicts I couldn't go in to dance a night. I feel really bad but there wasn't anything I could do.

Should I feel really bad? I mean I'm sure that there is more than enough girls there tonight and weekdays are much slower than weekends but I still feel horrible.

I keep reading that many girls make up there own schedules or just come and go when they want but I don't know if I can get used to that! We do have a "schedule" at my club but I basically tell them when I can work and those are the days I'm on.

Do you ever call off or just not go in?

It's not a big deal, you're a stripper, so you don't have a specific job to do, does that make sense? Like if you were a bartender and you called off, the bar might be shorthanded, but it's not like they really need one more stripper there. I wouldn't feel bad about it

You're thinking like an employee since that is what you are really in your 'every-day' life. Whenever you are an employee, you do not get the same flexibility and you do have to work when you are scheduled to work. Stripping is a business where you are your own boss and determine when/how much and kinda where you will work (depending on the contract you have with the club esp. written/signed ones!)

If they are fully aware of your day job and that it is your main source of income not the stripping then the club definately would not have any troubles with you not coming in tonight. Just give them, at least, 24 hours notice as that is the polite/smart thing to do.

The only time when calling out will be a problem is if you work in a really small club where there may be 5-7 dancers rostered on every night..... and you are one of those dancers. Then the one less dancer will impact things by making the other dancers go up on stage more and so forth.

This isn't your full time business... you are doing this (obviously) for extra cash hence don't worry about it.
