Default Sad news for WWE fans

Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room this morning. The cause is still unclear as far as their website says but a press conferance was to be held at 12;45 CT.... and the website updated as to any new news. As of yet nothing new has been posted.

Never a huge fan but still very sad news....thoughts are with his wife and 3 daughters.

Wait...didn't this happen to someone else? Like...exactly like this (found dead in their hotel room)? Strange, but sad all the same.

Wow.. That's sad. I liked him at some point. I hope they provide more details.

An autopsy will be the final judge, but considering EG's past history with drugs, it wouldn't surprise me if that had something to do with his death. Sadly, the pro wrestling circuit is a rough lifestyle. Painkiller abuse, namely Oxycontin, is very common in those circles.

I was talking with two co-workers about the famous "slam match" between Andre the Giant and Big John Stud from the original Wrestlemania, and it was kind of hard to fathom how both of them are now dead.
    Former SCJ now in rehab.

How about trying to perform after a fellow performer died whilst the show is being taped ?

Didn't Brett Hart's brother die during a wrestling show (this is ages ago granted) ?

I used to follow WWF (I know it's WWE now) avidly back in the 90s. Yes, I remember Andre The Giant... I also remember a wrestling video game that was releasted on the SNES (yes.. sooo long ago) and I always played his character in it. I remember when The Undertaker first came onto the scene... loved his character... then they went off the deep end in re: his character's "story line". I was around when Austin and the owner of WWF (WWE) had a story line where they were the greatest of enemies. Ah..memories...

To clarify for Deni and GoldCoastGirl:

Yes, this exact scenario happened before...Brian Pillman also died in his hotel room in 1997 (ironically enough, in Bloomington, MN, near where Eddie Guerrero died today in Minneapolis).

And yes, Owen Hart (of the famous Hart wrestling family) died in a stunt accident during a pay-per-view event. Despite the accident, the event continued (and yes, the WWE got TONS of flak for their "show must go on" attitude).

Always sad, but all the more unfortunate because so many guys in the business die so young.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't remember that guy's name for the life of me! That's odd, though.

Eddie was a great wrestler and will be missed. The autopsy showed heart damage which is the likely cause of death. I feel so bad for his family especially his wife and 3 daughters.
