Buying a notebook can I......?

I'm going to be buying a new notebook Wednesday, my first one. It's not any bigger than this one ( it's 4 years old) but I only want it to have on vacations, and to use it all around the house. My question is how can I transfer my "Favorites" over to it? Or can I?

in ie:
favorites are files in a folder called favorites. there may be a folder favorites for all users and a favorite folders for your screen name. go to start - > search -> type in favorites for all files and dir's -> copy all files in folder directories to floppy disc, network, laptop, etc... copy from floppy to new laptop favorites directory.
