    Default Told my sister!!!

OMG I'm so so so happy that I told my sister about me dancing! She had said when i was younger that if i ever did it that she'd disown me. I was terrified that she'd be very upset with me and look down on me because of it! I took it upon myself to take the first step in being an adult and told her today! She was very good about it, she even said that she wasn't really surprised. I've always been a sexual person and that she's glad that I told her! I'm so happy that she accepts me finally as an adult and made me feel like my decision to dance was okay!

For all of you out there who are scared to tell someone, don't be! You have to know that what you do is not a shameful thing and that you are a good person! Take it upon yourself to let yourself free and let them know what you do. Most likely they'll learn to deal with it!

Cool, I too am in utter fear of telling my big sister. I think I"m going to at least wait until I"m bringing in the "BIG BUX" before I go flaunting my profession. LOL nothing worse than a broke stripper.

I dont agree. I think it depends on what you think is best. Sometimes not telling is the better way to go. I dont tell my mom for the simple fact I know she would worry about me.She has enough to worry about,I dont feel the need to add to her worrys.
It's cool that your sis exepts it.But dont think for a minute when later you have a fight about something or another she will bring it up somehow in a mean condecending way.
    But to each is own.

My sister was mean about it until my whole family fell on hard times and it suddenly didn't seem so bad I was coming home with cash all the time. LOL

Yeah, I wish I had kept it more secret. I hurt people I didn't mean to, and it's not something you can talk about over dinner. I envy girls who have supportive family members.

FuntasticFerra, there are worse things to be in the universe. In fact, last month I saw a bumper sticker that said "Please don't tell my mama I'm a lawyer! She thinks I play piano at a brothel!"

My grandfather, a very wise man, always told us "No matter what you do, no matter the legalities, or the proprieties, or what people think, do what makes you so damn happy that it makes you want to dance."

This was, of course, after he left his career as a rum runner and became a county sheriff.

good for you.. it takes so much courgage to do that, and especially a familiy member.. i wish i would have at least told one of my sisters before my famiy found out from my ex what i was doing.. it would have made things a lot easier.. its so much better to be honest and upfront, even though its incredibly hard to do... u can't hide dancing forever someone will find out and word will get around.... i never ever thought anyone would find out, but sure enough it happened...
