    Default massage therapy

I'm still contemplating getting certified and getting a "day job"...does anyone here know anything about the ins and outs of being a massage therapist or personal trainer? Job market, salary, working conditions, pros and cons...anything?

I've been doing research on my own, of course, but it never hurts to get info/opinions from others who might know more than I do, or who know from experience.

I was a massage therapist for one year. I burnt out because my hands and wrists starting hurting nonstop. It was rewarding in a lot of ways, but very hard on the body. You have to take excellent care of yourself, or you will most likely only last a year or two.

Also, I was a dancer at the time, and had a hard time shifting gears. I ended up disliking working on men in general.

It can be an awesome career, if it is a "good fit" for you.

In the end, I say go for it no matter what. Massage school will teach you soooo much about yourself and how to take care of yourself, that even if you never did massage on anyone else, it will be worth it
