Default BA and scarless lift question

How common are plastic surgeons that will do an internal scarless lift with a BA? I've been using the links to research BA's with lifts and mostly I keep finding stuff about the lifts where they take out your whole nipple and leave a huge scar on the bottom of your boob. I want to avoid this for obvious reasons. I hada BA consultation yesterday and the doctor acted like the way with a lot of scars was the only way to do a lift. He also didn't seem very open to answering any of my questions. It made me feel real discouraged but I'm determined to get new nicer boobs. Can anyone recommend a doctor in Southern California that has had good results or will give me more options with the whole lift thing . The cost of it is not important. Thanks.

A "scarless" lift isn't as common a procedure. Some docs who don't perform certain procedures will try to make you think that however they do it is the only/best way to go. They operate on the knowledge that most women who undergo breast surgery are uneducated about all the options.

I haven't heard of a doctor who does a truly scarless lift; there are plenty who do them via aereolar incisions which only leave scars around the edge of the nipple so it's less noticeable. I think that's what they mean when they say "scarless" - there's no obvious scar on the lighter breast skin. Realistically, it's practically impossible to perform this kind of surgery without making some type of incision resulting in some scarring. Some docs are just better at minimizing it.

Look for docs who do Binelli lifts or crescent lifts. The binelli lift uses an incision around the entire aereola, and crescent only goes partway around the top of the aereola. Of course, both of these result in less dramatic breast lifting, but the scarring is less severe. If you have severe sagging, these may not work for you.

    Good luck!

Both the lifts that Birdgette described leave minor scars around the nipples.

There are very few doctors that do the scarless lift. Dr. Mossie in Kansas is the guy that's most famous for it. http://www.drmossie.com/Breast_Lift_...mentation.html

Thanks for the link and the suggestions. Yeah, I was actually refering to the Binelli or Cresent lifts. The scarring from either of those would be acceptable to me. My problem with what the doctor said was that I had to get the lift that has scarring on the regular part of the breast away from the nipple. I don't have severe sagging at all, but its the only way that doctor knows how to do lifts. That's why I'm looking for a different doctor. If anyone else has any more suggstions I'd love to hear them. Thanks again.

depending on your level of ptosis (how much sag you have), you might need an anchor lift, but it doesn't hurt to look around, especially since it's a little weird that the surgeon said this was the only kind of lift for you.

I've seen Dr Mossie's website - good hype but he's still using incisions for breast lifts which do leave scars. He may be really good at minimizing it, but he's not lifting any breasts without cutting the skin open somewhere

At this time there is no such thing as a truly scarless lift. They're just less noticeable scars.

If you're pale skinned the scars probably won't be too bad and if you apply Mederma, they will fade. You can use makeup to hide them until then, but you need to be vigilant about applying the gel and should probably combine it with the strips that you wear at night for faster healing.

What the hell is an internal lift? The only procedure I know of that's been described as such is by Gerald Johnson in Houston, and apparently he killed some kid, so I'm loathe to go under his scalpel.

I think it's just another term for "scarless".

yeah, it's another term for scarless....maybe they jsut don't like using the word "Scarless" since it conjures up images of lawsuits!

I wouldn't use the word scarless or no-scar because it's just completely inaccurate. And IMO, just putting the quotes around it the way they do is still not enough to avoid being misleading. They should come up with better terms.
