    Default Timing and Travel

For those of you who travel regularly to work...

How do you know where the best time is to be in each place? For example, if I want to go to Melbourne or South Dakota or Guam for a few weeks, how do I find out when their big season is? If I were to spend a year travelling Australia or the U.S., dancing all along the way, how would I find out where the busy season is in each place I want to visit? I'm REALLY interested in the "travelling stripper" gig and I'd like to make the most money I can at it!

Yeah, but what are big events? Before I came to this forum, I never would've thought hunting season in South Dakota would have been worth traveling for. How do you know what events result in a large and lucrative stripclub turnout?

In some clubs just being a pretty new face is enough to allow a dancer to do well. A lot of traveling just involves word of mouth and actually putting in a week or 2 in various clubs. The clubs you do well in are the ones you want to keep returning to. The ones you don't, scratch off the list.

Events in an area don't always equate to more earnings. Clubs are slowing down now, and many clubs allow an unlimited amount of dancers to work, so during an event the competition can be so intense you may not make as much money as you do during a regular night.

You really just need to do your research here on SW, drive your own car if in the US, and be flexible.

All clubs have slow weeks, and slow nights throughout the week, so a dancer has to be patient

    Good to know. Thanks!

Who knows when Alaska starts getting its summer business? I'm thinking I'd like to head up there in the spring or early summer... I'm really looking for a break from L.A. and the film biz, and it'd be nice to spend a year dancing full time around the States, and then maybe back to Australia for awhile. I'm thinking of maybe starting back around where I used to live on the Gold Coast for schoolies week and then seeing how it goes from there.

How do you travelers decide where to go? Do you just think, "Hm, I feel like going to X right now," or is there more to it than that?

Mid May is a good time to go to AK. I worked in Anchorage several years ago for about 5 months.
