    Default A Friendly Competition

My wonderful friend and I have started to work-out, eat right and think healthy. I am currently working three jobs (I have some serious debt to pay off - well, it's big to lil' me and let me tell you...er, motivate you, if I can...making your transition to a healthier lifestyle WORKS if you go about it a little at a time, taking it day-by-day. At the moment, she and I have a little competition with some money at stake ($5 each time we break a rule) and we're both taking things in moderation.

Quick Background: I was THAT girl who would go on a diet, stress out if I didn't perform perfectly and end up quitting after only a day and half (I'm serious, I can't stick with anything if I put too much pressure on myself to be "the best") on any diet/fitness program I planned to follow. Planning isn't good for me. I was also that girl who thought diet pills and other sources of energy aided me in my weight-loss goals. It never worked.

I'm winging it and tracking my progress in an on-line journal (that ONLY my friend is allowed to review) and it's working. I feel so determined. It's been almost two weeks and two weeks is HUGE in my world of a short attention/motivation span.

Anyways, I'm hoping that I can encourage other ladies that are just starting and/or need a push to continue on...no matter what size you are, how much weight you THINK you need to lose or dancing goals you strive to achieve, you're likelihood of success will be most definite if you do everything in moderation and not take yourself too seriously. Start moving and live it up! We're all different so, whatever workout/eating style works best for you...you should follow. Dedicate yourself to yourself!!

I feel so energized and inspired. Have a beautiful day ladies!

Yea I'm the biggest flake I know. I always say I will go on my diet, and am so motivated and ready at first, but after a couple of days I get frustrated and discouraged and just quit. I always tell my friends Im on a diet when we go out to eat, especially at a fast food place. My best friend always jokes and says shes also on a diet; the two hour diet. I asked her what is that? she told me its the diet where she pigs out for two hours and doesn't eat anything for the rest of the day. I know shes joking with me about it because I always seem to order a salad and then come home and pig out on a real meal with dessert afterwards. But yes, you're right, you cant feel like you're on a diet or eating diet/healthy food. I am trying to get back on track myself and I think the will give me the motivation I need!!
