    Default Going blonde...

Hi ladies! I'm not a dancer but am giving considerable thought to it.

Since I've graduated from high school I've completely made over myself.

I've lost weight and am down to a healthy size, I've dropped the glasses for contacts, and am starting to wear sexy clothes, rather than pajama bottoms and a white tee.

But I have a question regarding what I should do with my hair, especially considering the fact that I may start dancing.

Well, first the background. My mother is Irish-blooded, and had super pale, ruddy skin and red hair. She fell in love with my father, who's from Colombia, and has black hair and dark olive skin.

Genetics has given me my mom's very light skin, and my dad's black hair.

This is pretty, I guess. I see many women who pull it off. But having pale skin with red cheeks, and black hair, just doesn't work for me.

I have delicate features and they don't stand out at all.

I've tried tanning, and I absoleutly cannot do it. Even fake bake looks bad on me.

So my question is, do you think I should dye my hair blonde?

Many of my friends who are dancers give me mixed opinions. They say I would look good with it, but blonde is getting played out. Others tell me I should stick to dark hair because it looks exotic.

If I did dye it, what color do you think would be best? Platinum, golden, ashy.

Well ladies, your opinions would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Why does everyone think the grass is greener on the other side? You sound like a very striking girl, that's a good thing especially in a SC. I think you should stick with what your parents gave you. Lots of people find pale skin and dark hair attractive. Remember Betty Paige? Lara Flynn Boyle on Twin Peaks? Snow White? All pale, raven haired hotties!

I agree w/ Mia, I tried the black hair, couldn't pull it off, I looked like Elvira! It is beautiful, esp blue black, it is soooooo shiny, Courtney Cox has really light skin, and dark hair, I love it, also Rose McGowan a la Marilyn Manson days, if that is your natrual I would not change blonde is high maint. If you are going blonde stick to cool tones, platnum would work best w/your cool undertones in your skin

    Yeah, baby, yeah.
Oh, do blondes have more fun?
    Are blondes more fun?

I have gone blonde, yes and yes.

But fun does not necessarily translate into more money.
You get a lot more attention, it is true, but net worth?
That is still an undecided question.

Well, try it, and find out, it is always said that experience
is the best teacher. Good luck.

Keep in mind that you may look even paler if you go blonde... If you have a hard time tanning this may be a problem. I had a gay german friend who used to say that pale blondes wearing pink reminded him of undercooked meat.

Oh, I just thought of another pale hottie! Dita Von Tease, Mr. Mansons soon to be wife.

Umm i have mixed feelings actually. i LOVE dark hair and very light skin...it's hot! But that is me.

I have gone to black hair before and back to very light blonde again! My hair a a puke dirty mouse coloured brown imo.

I would try on a few different coloured wigs before taking the plunge!

I bought 2 cheap wigs on eBay and tried the look first. I LOVED dark hair on me...problem, it wont stay, roots grown in lighter.

You will have this problem, and it can be a pain in the ass for root touch-ups!!!

Going very dark to blonde...major root touch-ups.

However if you really want to know go to a salon who sells wigs..or a store, try them on! If you like a certain blonde it's up to you!!!

I always go back to blonde, my skin is far too light for dark imo, as are my eyes.

    What ever makes you happy!

But this may be extreme, get a gentle job done at the salon, and TALK to them as you go along, ask questions every little step.

    Good luck if/when you decide!!!

Do you have any pics? I would like to see how you look before I give you my opinion. I am blonde. I color my hair lighter just for the hell of it. My fav blonde is ashe blonde. Its got the golden tint to it but not too much for my complection. I would say do what you think is gonna make you feel better about yourself.

I have an Irish mother and an Egyptian father, so I too have pale pale skin and dark hair. I always hated it, I felt goth...so I went blond for years (various shades, from platinum to a deep honey), no better. I alternated from looking washed out, albino, and just plain generic and plain.

I've finally gone back to my natural color, a deep ash brown. And finally I can accept that is what looks best on me. I went from blending in to literally, people stopping me on the street to comment on my looks, or people gawking at me. I'm striking, whereas with the blond shades I looked like everyone else. Or worse, I looked liek I was trying way too hard.

Stick to your natural color. That stunning, striking look will carry you further than trying to change it.
