Angry "Can I borrow that??"<---Dammit no man!

Ok last night while I was at work, 2 girls asked if they could borrow my shoes. Luckily, they didn't match right with the outfits, so they went without mine. But, in the future, how can I avoid these girls asking to use my stuff?

I dont like them, dont trust them. Girls are just now starting to be cordial to me. I speak, but I work alone and hustle by myself. I don't want to make friends with these girls.

    HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

    Just never have 'extras'.

People steal and then it causes hard feelings whenever you work together in the future.

Only have one pair of shoes, and say you are wearing them. Nobody wants to be rude, but you don't want some other girl's foot cooties either.

It's not exactly sanitary to share shoes, you could say you are uncomfortable , they should understand. You could just say that you don't laon out things anymore after a few bad experiences.

With the exception of my best friend and another close friend, I don't like people borrowing my stuff because inevitably, it comes back stretched or otherwise altered. So, I say just that. For shoes or makeup or thongs or shavers (yes, I've had girls ask me for my thong and to borrow a shaver), jokingly say "yuck! you don't want my foot cooties" or "seriously say "no, I don't share those things."

See my thing is, I try to match shoes with outfits. Most of my outfits go with the clear shoes. I have a couple of pink outfits, thus I wear my clear shoe w/pink platform. Or if I wear red, I wear my clear shoe w/ red platform.

I totally agree with the "foot cooties" I dont' want any part in that.

I have a strict no lending, no borrowing policy (okay, so I have lent the occasional outfit to my best friend, but she practically lives with me). If you wish to implement this, be sure to always come to work prepared. Remember: You don't buy your stuff so OTHER people can use it to make money, it's for YOU to make money. Once you start lending stuff to people, it's really hard to go back to just keeping your shit to yourself.

NEVER share shoes or panties ( i think the last one is pretty obvious. )

However, Good friends of mine that break their heels and such I always let them borrow a pair to make it through the night.

Any chick im not too familier with either doesn't borrow shit from me, or I charge 10 bucks.

I think it's just respectful to "tip" whom you borrow from or at least wash the stuff.

I never ever ever let anyone borrow anything it would kill me if it came up missing. So that includes my straightening iron , my best shoes and my money making outfits.

I feel you Tart. But see my issue is that these girls NEVER talk to me. No one does. Not that I have a problem with it. But geez, how convient for you to ask someone that you don't even attempt to have a conversation with.

I'm going to take this as a lesson learned. Spend less time "prepping' in the dressing room!

Well, it's a lil' weird, but you could tell them you have plantar warts (bottom of the foot warts, contagious). Just an idea. I know what you mean, it's friggin' annoying, & nervy. It always seems to me that when people borrow my things, they start to consider it theirs, & if it's one thing I hate, it's me having to ask & ask for it back. They're dancing & makin $ too, they can damn well buy their own damn shit!

I just tell them flat out, that I had some of things misplaced before when I loaned them out and now I don't lend things out anymore. You can say it and be nice about it without allowing them to push over on you. You have to establish your place there now, if you don't they will have their way with you in the future.

Ugh.. I NEVER let anyone borrow my outfits.

But, I did let one borrow my boots and gloves one day. The twat didn't show up for dayshift when I was supposed to swing by and pick them up, but told the manager she'd be in for night shift. I had the night off, and decided to swing by then and grab them from her. That was the night was mugged in the back of the building where we all parked our cars. After all that, the bitch wasn't even there--she was a no-show AGAIN! She disappeared from the club with my boots and my gloves. Never returned.

After that, I never let anyone borrow my shit again. You're safer that way. They won't get ruined and they won't disappear.

I'd just tell them flat-out "NO", Cin. They don't need you to give them a reason either. That should be enough.

I always keep everything tucked out of sight in my sports bag. If anyone asks if I have any outfit/shoes they can borrow I straight out say no. They can decide for themselves if that is no I don't have spares or no you can't. Or say you're leaving early that night. But yeah I just straight out lie. They're not my friends I don't owe them anything- especially my clothes.

I'll lie to them....say I don't let people borrow my stuff. The truth is I do, just certain people.

The other night a new girl asked to borrow my flat iron and I was like, "nah, I'm very protective over my stuff" and then like 2 minutes later my friend asked and I said "sure! just put it in your locker when you're done."

so I lied to new girl. Oh well!

I have 1 friend that I work w/ and we have helped each other out, I broke my shoe, she lent me hers, and vice versa. I keep all my things in my bag, so no one knows what I have w/ me. If these girls don't even talk to you, then just say no, it is rude to ask people you don't even know for things. Say sure!! But I have althetes foot!!

    1. Please lock up your bag, buy one of those mini locks and just put it thru the wholes of the zipper thing.
    2. Just say no, no explantion necessary, or say I don't lend my things out, sorry.

Any time I have lent something to someone that wasn't my close friend (even that isn't a guarantee tho) it has managed to become theirs, or it got ruined in some way, or they lost it, or just conveniently stopped coming to work when I was there. So I NEVER let girls borrow my stuff, and I lock it up if I am not in the room with it, because bitches would get into my shit when I was on stage.

I'm a softie, and I have a terrible time saying no to anyone...I'm ok with people borrowing my clothes, my curling and straightening irons, my hot rollers, my make up but I have to draw a line when it comes to panties and shoes...those are very personal items...

You have the right idea about working!!!! I love it. No you may not because i don't loan anything out works fine. Leave it at that. Sounds as though you got your priorities straight! Keep it short and simple with them, and they will respect you, AND back off!!!

    Good luck,

I have always told those who have asked to borrow my things that I have had some bad experiences lending things out and so I just don't do it anymore.

The truth is however that I just don't loan my stuff out because I have learned from others mistake of doing so and I prefer not put myself in that situation.

Just bring what you are going to use for the night. For one, you have less to carry around. Second, if you have a locker, you have less to worry about getting stolen. Third, it's a lot easier to have stuff at home on hand when it needs washed. Primarily, for your current reason, you don't look like a "meanie" for not sharing. There was a nice little dress I use to wear that everyone wanted--so I thought I would sell because I wasn't crazy about it. By the time a few girls I knew asked if they could try it on first (which they then ran out on the floor)...it wasn't worh a crap! So doing this allows you to have the freedom of all the above and keep your dancer etiquette...

I don't borrow my panties or shoes (they tend to fit your foot only, after you wear them in), but, if I give away an outfit, I always ask the girl to give me one of hers (nice one) to hold on to, until I get mine back.
