Hmmm, this is touchy. I have one regular customer (not an especially big spender, but he's there every week, always asking about me, buys me the occasional little gift, doesn't get dances from anyone else, etc). So, he's a nice guy who I don't want to offend, but I cannot STAND how he smells. I have this disturbing aversion to curry (it makes me sooo nauseous), and he's East Indian, so he always smells like these spices but on top of that, he wears this horrible cologne. UGH. It really revolts me. I am horribly smell sensitive, and I know it's not the kind of thing that should bother me, but it really really does. And of course he's always there at the beginning of my shift, so I have to spend the rest of the evening with that awful smell in my hair...honestly, I wash my hair twice to get it out.
So. I've tried avoiding him, because I'd actually rather not have the money then wear that smell, but he sits there for hours giving me these hurt looks until I come over. He's a very nice man, and I don't want to offend him! I could deal with the curry, but the cologne is just unbearable. Is there a kind way to tell him not to wear it? I don't really like any cologne- can I just tell him this? Or just not dance for him anymore? I just am worried about it coming across as racially offensive or anything like that, because it's not, it's me and that damn cologne.
