Exclamation A little 2 cents about "extras"

I have read many posts on this website and now I feel I need to give a little advice. There is a thin line between what you are as a stripper and what you are in your "real" life. This goes along with extras... if a guy is making you uncomfortable then walk away. I figure if I wouldn't let a guy do it to me at a bus stop then it shouldn't happen in the VIP room or anywhere else in the club. So if you are getting confused about whether it's "ok" then just think "would I do this at a bus stop" just my 2 cents

hmm, where can I catch that bus? The one that you wait for at a bus stop that has the same things going on as in the VIP room? I don't care where the bus is going, I just want to wait at the bus stop.

And I wouldn't be standing at the bus stop with my goodies blowing in the breeze either, LOL.

But, yes, I too get what you are saying and thank you.

A lot of perfectly conventional elements of a dancer's job can't be done at the bus stop either. There's also stuff you can get away with at the bus stop that you can't do in the club (like board the bus).

But like Jillian, I see where you're going.

Poor analogy. As a standard practice stripper, for money, I've done plenty of things I wouldn't do at a bus stop. If you are willing to grind nude or semi-nude on a stranger at a bus stop, it doesn't make you a "dirty stripper". Sheesh.....

    Kat, I agree!!

I think there is not a thin line between the "stripper" me and the "real" me... They are not the same. The club is a fantasy land and therefore what goes on in the club is a game between both the customers and the girls. Customers want more efffort from the girls for their $$ and the girls want more $$ for less effort from the customer.

I can put up with a lot from customers so long as I am being compensated for my time and for whatever insanity they are dishing out to me. That is why I am there to make $$. It would be a diservice to my bank accounts to walk away from anyone who made me feel uncomfortable. However, if I have far less tolerance for B.S. in the "real" world as it serves me no benefit to stand by and be harrassed by some vulgar idiot.

Working in the club has however fine tuned my art of ignoring stupid people.

    Very well said bella
In the club Im a sensual fantasy, and there to make money.
My degree of tolerance is very much different from what I would put up with in the real world..which is about zip lol...

I just cant imagine dancing naked and blowing in the ear of the guy next to be at the bus stop. ;-)

I agree with Bella. Outside the club, I dress and act like a BOY.

Similarly, I wouldn't act outside work the way I act inside work for ANY job -- for example, normally if someone came up to me very angry I'd tell them to fuck off, but in retail work, you gotta take it with a smile.

I agree also that you must set your boundaries, both for what you're willing to do normally, AND what you're willing to do for money!

Not only is there a big difference for me in terms of what I do OTC vs. ITC, how I talk to people and let them talk to be is very different. For example a friend of mine works in a library and she had a patron tell her she had nice tits. When I hear that at work, I think I can use that to get some dances off of this guy. If someone were to tell me that in another environment I would probably say something bitchy back.

At work I am on display for other people's sexual fantasies, but OTC I am absolutely not.

The longer I dance the less I care about what everyone else does. I have seen it all, blow jobs, hand jobs, titty sucking, you name it.....
I also have seen what it has done to those girls self esteem and in actuality, they don't make any more money that I do and I have never crossed the line.

I do what makes me happy, me comfortable, and me sane. Nothing is worth losing that over. Girls can whine about extras all day long but they are a very real part of this buisness. You don't have to be an extras girl to be successful as a dancer, but in order to like what you do for a living you have to realize that not everyone has the same morals and opinions as you do and letting it bother you will only bring you down and get you burned out!!!!

I'm sorry, but I would have to disagree with you totally on this subject. I have had group sex at parties, but would I ever do that at work (or for money)?? Hell no! What we do as dancers professionally has nothing to do with what we enjoy doing when we are not working.

What constitutes an extra? Your local laws and regulations will dictate what is okay during any given performance and what is illegal according to laws of your community.

Many, many women would never even disrobe in front of their husbands, so the thought of parading around a crowded bar stark naked would be very tramatic to them.

Extras have nothing to do with what a person is comfortable doing, it has everything to do with what is legal and what is "extra" beyond the law.

    I couldn't agree more Paris!

This is where the confusion reigns supreme as 'touching' is allowed in some states (even here in Australia) and is illegal in other states... so if I allowed a guy to touch my breasts on the Gold Coast that is perfectly normal whereas if I allowed that same action to happen in Adelaide it would constitue "an extra".

i was posting this for the new girls. at first when you dont really know what to do and what is going on then i feel you shouldn't just let everything hang out and do whatever the customer says is "ok" you know what im saying. and then as time goes on and you learn more then you have been in the business long enough to decide what you want to do. but i don't think if you have only been working for a couple months you should do or try to do the things experienced dancers are doing. it will just make you burned out. i feel just because your a stripper doesnt make you a slut. and i think customers should learn this but if all the newbies are pulling out their "stuff" then it makes it more of a bunny ranch. if you disagree with me then thats ok, i like feedback but we as newbies are very vulnerable and should observe for a while b4 taking action. kwim we aren't hookers we're fantasy girls
