    Default stealing a customer

I've been working at a new club for only 2 weeks & there are a pair of girls that work together all the time..it's kind of funny because they seem to be joined at the hip, afraid to be separated or something. Anyway I was sitting with a group of 3 guys (one was the b-day boy) so I stayed w/him since i knew he'd be getting the majority of the dances..well the 2 girls tryed to hustle his friend to get him to buy lap dances for the guy I was sitting with for them! It's so obvious that I was already trying to work him & they come over and try to steal him right in front of me? Can you believe the nerve of some girls? It's like they never got out of high school mode.

That's just wrong. These girls are obviously unprofessional. Just keep doing what you do and don't stress about girls like that. Give them enough rope to hang themselves and they usually do.

When I first started I did not know that this was a bad thing to do, but very quickly realized and to this day I am sort of embarassed that I ever thought it was ok.

What about when you are working a guy, but then have to go on stage, but plan to return and another girl has taken over, is that fair play?

Not really - then again there's not much you can do about it. Except to mark that girl as a cut-throat dancer and keep an eye on her.

That happens a lot at the club I work at and there's no relief in sight about it.

I must say yes, unless your 'plan to return' involves the customer telling the other dancers he's waiting for you... one thing girls will do is leave something of theirs on the customer's table as a way of 'staking a claim' but as a customer I personally think that is a bit discourteous unless he is already your regular... and perhaps even then unless you ask him to 'watch it' for you...

I may sound mean, but I am there to make $ (and do) if a girl has to go on stage she can have her dude go sit up there and watch/tip her. If he didnt follow her and is just sitting there..damn strait Im going in for the kill. He can always say "no Im waiting",most times you snooze you lose.(actually going on stage not snoozin) Hey I have to sometimes go on stage too, turn around is always fair play.

It's fair, but I hate it from a custies perspective. Especially when I move from the back to as close as I can get to the stage to watch/tip.

Some girls have done this to me before and the key is to not let them get away with it. Return the favor. Next time tweetle dee and tweetle dumb are sitting with someone, barge in and treat them the same way they treated you. If they know you are going to lay there and take it they will most likely keep doing that to you.

However, NO CUSTOMER BELONGS to anyone. It's all fair game. While you were "working" him, he may have had his eyes on someone else. If he didn't specifically say COME BACK then maybe they had every right to do what they did..... as unprofessional and unclassy as it was.

There were 3 guys and just you. It's perfectly acceptable for them to have approached. Since it was a birthday party, you need to hustle THE WHOLE TABLE (or at least the one who holds the money) and get them to agree that YOU are the BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT. Focusing only on the birthday boy sets you up to be out-hustled by the duo.

In fairness, I bet the pair did not know that it was a birthday table. Birthday tables / bachelor parties typically have only one guy getting dances. Instead of walking away and looking stupid, they just made a sales pitch.

i agree ive had this happen when I was working just one out of 3 guys and the girl came up and grabbed the guy that I was talking to!! but i think when people do that it comes back to them, because I still got a couple dances out of him after and the guy turned out to be a HUGE pervy pain in the ass...so I let him go and she took him back for somemore dances. But he soooo wasnt worth any amount of money he vas very very grabby! so it worked out

There's a pair JUST LIKE THAT at the club that I'm going to start working at again. It's almost like one of the girls is too timid to make money on her own [I saw how she worked before they started teaming up] and the other girl is very aggressive. Together, they are overwhelmingly aggressive and it seems that they see nobody beyond the realm of their tiny, tiny world. You'll just have to be extra aggressive if they approach a group you're already sitting with. Make sure that you make your mark on whatever guy you are sitting with, or they will. Guaranteed.

Girl you need to say something to her...you shouldn't have to put up with that kind of treatment. You can politely talk to her about it and if she doesn't stop then do the same thing to her!!

I dont imagine that stripping is much different than any other business. You have honorable and worthy competitors and then you have those who rank right there with rats on the evolutionary scale. You have to decide whether you want to adjust your business ethics to try and compete on their level or whether its better to take the high road.

those girls need to get off their high horses and grow up... its common knowlege in the world of stripping that you NEVER come up to a girl who is involved with a customer to intervene and steal a dance... That takes a lot of nerve to do what they did... um, im suprised they didn't get clocked by you or someone else.... total shitty move.... i'm kind of a game player, but if it comes to the point if they keep doing it and you're not saying anything about it, the nex time they are with customers, but right in and do what they did.. some people could argue with me and say thats immature as well, but what comes around goes around.... they need to see how it feels..

KamrynAnne, I believe all would agree that there are unwritten rules of conduct in business. I guess the question gets to be what do you do if one of your competitors ignores those rules? Do you take the high road or do you get down in the muddy trenches and fight it out? From a custy point of view we often like it when strippers fight over our money but I can see where a dancer would struggle with finding herself standing on the sidelines vs making her goal for the night.

Actually, she said they approached the friend to get him to buy dances for the guy SHE was already with. That's definitely cut-throat. They may as well have approached the guy himself with her sitting right there - same cut-throat.

I've had many guys call me over and hand me money to dance for their friend when another girl was there. I always tell them I can't just knock the other girl out of the way and ask if I can dance for him instead since the friend is occupied. Those two girls could have asked to dance for the friend(s) but they tried to hustle dances for a guy who already had a girl, making it obvious they knew it was a b-day table. Totally uncool.

    *******************

As for handling the situation: Don't just watch and fume as the girls hustle your spot; immediately turn to your guy and ask for the dance. Tell him you want to dance for him. If he hesitates, turn to the buddy in front of the girls and ask if they're buying him a b-day dance from you. Be assertive. Don't let girls stop you from hustling just because they barged in - sell. If they don't buy from you, then you didn't waste much time and you can cut your losses and move on to the next prospect.

It's not cut throat. The girls didn't ask the guy SHE was talking to for a dance,The girls asked him to buy the b-day guy a dance. To the dou, they wanted a dance from the guy she wasnt sitting buy or looked like talking to. If she were sitting and talking right next to the b-day guy they might not of approaced him. Any way, 3 guys to 1 girl its totally logical that girls will approach,I would and do. Its just like a part of 10 people,If one girl is already there does that mean no other girl can work the table...NOPE! 1 on 1 ok,2 or more on 1 = fair game!

What pisses me off is when I'm in the middle of hustling a custy, very obviously so, facing him and in engaged in conversation and some bitch runs up and throws herself on him and goes "Oh it's so good to see you! How have you been? I'm so glad you're here! Are you gonna spend some time with me tonight?" I don't care if it's your regular or not that is fucking rude. The fair way to handle that is as you walk by smile, wave, and keep on walking. That's enough to let him know that you are there and it's up to him what to do with that info. Don't throw yourself into the middle of someone's hustle regardless of if it's your regular or not. That's just ignorant.

They were asking to dance for the guy she was sitting with. They were just asking his friend to pay for it. Cut-throat. You don't ask to dance for the guy that another girl is already with.

Thank you for being one of the good ones! I've had many customers who were just about to go get some VIP dances with me only to be dragged off by other dancers who have been paid by his friends. It's just. not. cool.

I agree. You have to cut to the chase and get the dance when other girls make themselves a threat.

Actually it was pretty obvious I was sitting with the b-day boy, I was sitting next to him, facing him & talking to him with my arm around him, they were flat out trying to steal him from me right under my nose! I wasn't going to let it happen anyway & the funny thing is that he didn't even want a dance from them...he only liked me. haha
