omg... My brother used to have a sales job like that... That sucks...

He worked for this company that sold lightbulbs to commercial places, they would call some place to confirm the address only most of the time whoever picked up the phone had no idea that they were actually getting ready to buy something. The bulbs cost like next to nothing if you bought them at like home depot or something but the same ones from that company cost like a ridiculous amount more.

Thank goodness he doesn't work there anymore. I think the scam is similar to slamming. You should try to contact the Better Business Bureau in your area. They may be able to help you.

In the mean time I would ignore the bills... They need to contact you to try to collect their $$...

Did they actually send you products? If so, I would return them immediately with a signature and delivery confirmation.

Take it to your local Attorney General office and Better Business Bureau. Most likely you're just another victim in a long line of others. If that's the case, there might be an easy resolution once the AG gets involved and make sure you mention in any conversation with them that you have been in touch with the AG's office. Obviously, don't pay any bill and make sure you run a credit check on yourself after 30 days of receiving them to make sure they didn't trash your credit too. Depending on how the bills are written, it is most likely a scam done by an independent person, not officesupplystore.com. It may be someone using their name with a fake address and phone number that goes to some distant P.O. box. They probably send out tons of these "bills" with the hope that some accounting office somewhere will cut a check for them and are probably meaningless. Still though, it could just be an odd computer glitch. Keep pressing them, your AG's office and the BBB as soon as possible before it turns into a bigger mess down the road.

I just looked at their website and they are not from Seattle as you are thinking they are. They're listed address goes to a P.O. box in Santa Monica, California. Also, their site looks really fishy as well. Making a claim all over the site that there is no sales tax should have been your first tip-off. By law, if they have an office or established business address in the state of California, you have to pay any applicable state sales tax if you order from them and it ships to an address in California. Only until the items ships out of state are you protected from paying state sales tax.

It does sound like a scheme. Do they realize that you are not a business but an individual? I agree that they send out these bills thinking that companies would think that they missed something and just pay it.

Make sure you keep at least one copy of the bill that they are sending you for evidence if needed and follow DW's suggestion to contact the AG's office.

You didn't give them any other info besides your address, I hope.

Well when i received the goods, i realized what they were even before i opened the box so i just put "REFUSED RETURN TO SENDER" on the box. After that i keep getting bills, and when i call them i immediately get a recorder i have left numberous messages but nothing. the number they put on their invoices is 310-289-5490

Doc, that is a great website. It actually came in handy when I was researching Digital Threadz, a costume company. That is mentioned in another thread.

Everyone should check that website when they have the chance. You'd be surprised at who's listed!
