    Default BABY-fine hair!

My hair is almost the same thickness as it was when I was two. It is thin, thin, thin! Even a drop too much of Biosilk causes it to look very dull and oily. I've researched and tried to find ways to "thicken" my hair. Any thoughts?

Plus, thin hair is very hard to style and without it looking frizzy.

I used to use this stuff to strenghten my hair which made it less baby fine so less fell out. It doesnt wieght down too much..I guess youd use a tiny dallop for your hair. Its best used on wet/damp hair then combed trhough

There's a laser comb that supposedly thickens fine hair.

Abbey, why don't you trade with me? I'd love to have hair that silky.

Ok there is a product out there by Pureology. It's a little hard to find but if you can get your hands on it it's so worth it. It's a self heating product that contains volcanic ash. You shampoo, rinse, then put this stuff on and rinse again. The downside is that once it is in your hair you dont get that"run your fingers though me" looking hair. It feels like the hair is all stuck together but the look is UNREAL. It might be something you would like to try for when you wear your hair up.

Also, you can try the Redken Body Full or Big Sexy Hair's blow-out serum. It works great on fine hair, too.

I think first a cut for fine thin hair helps alot, mainly lots of layers all over the head! Second a good shampoo made for major volume will add some OOOMPH! A light conditioner only on the very ends....or your hair will lay flat.

Do you have any kind of color or highlights in your hair?Very often those services will make the cuticle open up a bit and make the hair look fuller,it worked for me and some of my friends. But don't color your hair just because it can make it thicker though. There are some thickening hair mousses and gels that might do the trick.

    Good luck!

Try a volumizing mousse on the roots and blowdrying it upside down...

I have fine hair too, my hair is pretty long and I have actually been thinking about getting it cut shorter to get some of the weight off of it so it looks fuller.

But I am scared... When it's long I want it short, short I want it long... Damn it's tough to be a woman!!!

I have the same problem...very thin hair and not a lot of it. When I danced, I put in extensions for fullness. Now in my retirement, I use the Paul Mitchell Volumizer. It's a spray in and I use it on the roots only as it tends to make the rest of my hair feel yucky so don't comb it through.

Blow dry your hair upside down after spritzing (again, roots only) and using the scrunching motion on your roots. I wair my hair straight, so I use the ceramic straightening iron on the top layer of my hair only. Voila...lots thicker.

Bella, I have the same problem! I picture myself as a 70-year-old woman with hair that goes out the door because I'm just too afraid to cut any of it off!

Ok, this morning I read this thread and thought "hey, sounds like me too!" So I went to the beauty store to get the REDKEN Extreme that was recommended by Tigersmilk. Ok, so I picked up the Anti-Snap and started talking to the lady and she then ALSO recommended NIOXIN Scalp Treatment for fine hair/thin hair. She said she used after she had a baby and her hair fell out. She promises it to work wonders so I'm trying it out
