    Angry Rrrgh, hypocrites.

My two best friends are back in Memphis, a couple thousand miles from here. One of them, B, calls all the time to say hello; the other, M, talks to me when I call her but she never calls me. I was talking to B a few minutes ago and she says that M is completely against my stripping and she thinks it's wrong and immoral. I should point out that M is a devoutly Catholic 28-year-old virgin who's never even had a boyfriend, though all she wants in the world is to get married and have 97 babies.

I'm just irritated because M got the same attitude with me when I got divorced. She would have been completely fine if I had stayed with a husband who didn't respect me or my goals, and had sex with him regularly in exchange for him paying all my bills. That would have made her so happy. But no, somehow THAT's okay, but since I give 3-minute lapdances to fully clothed strangers who then get out of my life, I'm a whore.

    I hate hypocrisy. Grrr....

I hate that too. People who get so wrapped around a religious doctrine that they forget that they are intelligent creatures who have the luxury of free will.

Worship whatever God you want, but don't let him make the choices you know are right for you.

Sometimes ya just gotta say...WTF! And just leave it at that.

Yep. And I love her anyway. She just gets on my nerves sometimes when she starts talking like she knows everything about sex. After all, everything she knows about sex she learned from an elderly celibate man in a white collar who probably fingers little boys' assholes in the confessional. Excuse me for not considering her an expert.

Yeah one of my best friends is deeply religious, and thinks stripping is prostituion, I love her anyways, she isn't gonna always approve of everything I do, so we just don't talk about it. She has no clue, and isn't paying my bills

    Well said.

What I don't get is, how is prostitution to dance but it's NOT prostitution to have sex with a man so he'll pay your bills?

Some of the most fucked-up people I've ever known considered themselves "devout. Whatever happened to "Judge not lest ye be judged"?
Tell her to"Cram it, Petunia," next time you hear tell of her ripping on your choices behind your back. Judging one's friends...so not cool. Talking about them behind their backs? LAME!

God is so not a he. Calling God a he derives from formal pronounciations, like in french, formal you pronounce masculine. God was before that fem, and b4 that depicted as a halphfish, and called of the water. I think putting a sex on the highest form of God is insulting.
That said, if they want to do bible thumping, then feel free to thump back. Just look, quotes are easy to find, from pro prostitution to its a sin to NOT go out into the world to work. Thump hard eanouph and they fall off the pulpit, and realise that their not being nice, and are hurting your feelings. Your light is you, if you are true to your light, that means shining it wear you are supposed to, titty clubs not excluded
I could go on and on about how you and your body are seporate, but who wants to listen to that crap?(I'm fascinated by religions, get a kick out of making the door to door visiters stutter )But anyways, figure you just want a pat on the back...I bet they've been doing some pretty naughty things to point a finger at you In your shoes I'd enjoy their friendship, acknowlege what their saying, and say that your still going to follow the path you feel is right for your life, or that leads you back onto your main path.
(If you want quotes, PM me, I'll dig, but I bet your prolly rollin your eyes now!)

Oh, I was told by someone that God's plan for me probably did not include me undressing for a roomful of men. Well, why did God give me this hot body, then? LOL
I feel I have "helped" people in a spiritual sense, from being a dancer- I reeled them in with my looks & then gave them treatment they deserved, whether good or bad.
Let them have their opinions. There is a lot about the bar business that I still don't approve of. I am still a morally conservative person, 5 years of exotic dance nonwithstanding.

I don't think they are. My body is just as much a part of me as my mind. That's why I don't get what the big deal is; if I can share my intimate feelings with the world as a writer and filmmaker, why can't I share the mere sight of my body? I'm not even doing anything I consider sexual. I consider myself religious and deeply spiritual, but I do not believe my body is something I should have to hide. That's Catholicism for you though.

^^^Agreed. And one of the many reasons I consider myself a "Recovering Catholic".

Well that's too bad that she judges you that way but I guess she's free to have her own opinion .My own personal views on religion are not good ones for the most part based mostly on my own personal experiences .

'do not judge, or you too will be judged. for in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.' matthew 7:1-2

guess your friends forgot about that verse...she who is without sin cast the first stone...

my point. noone is sinless. noone is flawless...and noone has a right to point a self rightious finger at another person and give them some damn 'holier than thou' lecture.

and people wonder why i left the church, and don't want to have anything to do with fundementalist (sp).
why do some people still have to fight to get the same opportunities that are given to others?

    reclusiveness...is a good thing.

the greatest revenge in the world...is success.
