    Default Need Skinny Clothes...Help please!

I have a new corporate job coming up soon. Regular attire is business casual but I do need a few suits as there will be quite a bit of client interaction, requiring more proper attire.

Problem is...I'm a size zero and can't shop in the petite section. Why? While I am short, my inseam is that of a taller woman...I am all leg and petites are too short.

Does anyone know where to get suits or dressier separates in smaller sizes? I tried the Kaspar ASL outlet near me and found that their petites are longer but there was only one suit that I liked.

I have no problem with skirt suits but I like pantsuits better, especially for the colder weather here.

    Thanks in advance!

Victorias secret and fredericks always have a nice suit and seporates section, and their clothes last also. Size 0 might be back orderd for a couple weeks(they might have to make it) but can be gotten.
I know that you can also buy your bottoms by the inseem from Victorias as well.
    here is one..

    and heres another..

and there is many more to choose from.
    Check out other catalogs also.

I am a 0 petite and I know how you feel. Casual Corner has nice suits but I think they are going out of business soon. They do carry a 0. Also if you check the juniors section a Belk, Dilliards, etc., you may find that a 1 or 3 will work. The Limited has some nice career things sometimes. Banana Republic does as well and their things tend to be for taller people. Ann Taylor isn't bad either. Ann Taylor can be expensive though. But all these stores carry 0. No one has ever said being thin was cheap, lol. If you don't mind e-bay, they also have 0's.

Thanks so much gals. I have Banana Republic and Ann Taylor very close to my house so I'll try there. Yeah, being thin and not proportionate sucks!!!

If I could gain weight and not have it go straight to my belly I would. Size four is where I would love to be just for the selection. And the fact that I could shop at Marshalls and TJ Maxx!

I know my commenting might be wierd, but I do have a wife who is a bad shopper that I have to help.

Express - at least check out the editor pants, they have multiple lengths per size
Brooks Brothers - I've only been here once with the wife for suits, don't remember the lengths.

Alterations are your friend, and you usually get a better fit than your size since it is recut to fit your ass and crotch, not someone else's.

Actually, I was wondering about alterations. I am a teeny size on top as well. How well do they alter blazers?

It really depends on the tailor. There is a fantastic tailor at the mens shop where I usually buy suits. Good enough for Bush Sr., good enough for me (tailoring is inclusive with regularly priced items). Maybe you can get recomendations somewhere.

I bought a suit at the Men's Warehouse this summer for the first time and was not happy with the way it came back, and what the sales person had told me was 'ok' without alterations, wasn't working for me. Then again, you get what you pay for, I spent more to have a suit recut by the already previously mentioned tailor after losing 60 lbs than I spent at MW all together.

Aside from the fit there is a only one really noticeable difference between an altered jacket/blazer and a non. Dont worry about it, get one done and try and figure it out.

I have to be careful of stores like Talbots. They might have the smaller sizes, but they run big. Like Jones NY...used to love their suits but even when I was a 2, the 2's (their smallest size) were huge.

I have the same problem. For that reason, I prefer business suits made in Europe, like France or Italy, they run small because women there are thinner. I like Benetton, Theory, and Anne Taylor Petites (the regular 0 is still a bit loose).

Even the 0 pants and skirts at Express are far too big, skip that one.

Thanks Kat, I'll have to look into those brands. I don't mind spending as I firmly believe in quality, not quantity when it comes to suits. I just made a nice little bundle selling my old size 6's that I didn't think would look good with the jackets altered (but I found out I might be wrong with this)

Ann Taylor was a bust! Very few 0's and they were swimming on me. I f'ing HATE vanity sizing! I am a 0 and I want my clothes to be a 0. When I was a 6, I wanted them to be a 6...who the hell cares if the label says 0...nobody would see the label but me!

Maybe vanity sizing should be another thread...
