Default Surprise Birthday Party - Ideas?

The agency that I sometimes work for has booked a surprise 50th b-day party, given by the man's wife & held in a banquet room. Does anyone have any unique, fun ideas of how to do this show? It's a 1/2 hour show, and I didn't want to just walk in & start stripping! I know we have some creative people on this site, so throw 'em at me

Will the party already be underway by the time you make your entrance?

Yes, it will. I figure everyone will be in the drinking and socializing mode when I get there.

Way back when I used to do private parties and it was a birthday, I would always make sure that the music I brought with me was from their time. If he's 50 now, that would make his prime years (his 20's) in the 70's.

That always helped to make them more comfortable. Hope this helps.

Maybe your wife could help you out with dressing up like someone from his childhood, or even his mother. Or you and she could arrange to play out a scene like you are her girlfriend-on-the-side and she is leaving him for you. Be silly, have fun. If she's hiring a stripper for her husband's over-the-hill party, she's probably going to be open to something goofy.

Not necessarily. Right no for private parties its birthday party season, and not bachelor partys and it sucks

I have been kicked out of like 3 birthday partys by the wife, she was even the one who ordered and payed for me.

But hopefully they are cool and good luck. In lots of the birthday partys i have gone to they already have thought of what they want me to do.

good luck and let us know how it went

    Dam K, what happened?

Candy Apple, I'm really trying hard to think of what you could do for a birthday party. This will be held in a banquet hall, do you even know how many guests will be present? The idea on the music from his generation is a good one. As far as a "performance" hmmm I'll have to think about that a little more.

Thanks, Foxey, I thought so too. If she's got a little acting skill to pull it off, it could be really hilarious. It could either be, "Happy birthday, Honey. This is Candy Apple and I'm running away with her!"

Or Candy could burst in acting outraged like she just found out her woman is married, crashing the party, and while everyone is standing there shocked, the wife could be like, "I'm so sorry, honey! I've been seeing her on the side!" And when he asks why... "Here, let me show you!" Bumpchickabumpbawww!

Damn, now I want to do this.

I think your best bet is to interpret the music and make it cute and interactive without being too over the top. I'll give you an example of one of my old shows. <<Caution, it's corny>>> Just to show you what I mean:

Older guy: music was 50's and 60's. Came in dressed as a cop (told you it's corny) and stripped to "I fought the law (and the law won)".

Next song was "Rockin Robin" and I would dance on and around him making him flap his arms once in awhile.

Another song was "Pennies From Heaven" and I did a peek a boo show getting fully naked with an umbrella (because the song talks about rain)

I know this is corny but the wives loved it because it wasn't so...ummm...stripperish? But rather a performance. When you make it interactive, it takes a lot of pressure on you to keep mixing up your moves as well.

    Good Luck!!!

P.S. Don't make fun of me please, I know it's corny, but it was fun and it worked because everyone was comfortable.

I think it would be cool if you could download or find the version of "Happy Birthday" that Marilyn Monroe sang, and as you walk into the room have that song playing, and you mouth the words to it. Go up to him and dance very slow and sexy right in front of him while you pretend to sing the song. I think that would be a good way to get your show started.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I am just now replying, I was away from the pc yesterday. Anyway, those all sound really good. I'm going to look for the MM Happy b-day song. I may call his wife to see if she had any ideas.

I guess I should put this in the music section but I was wondering what good 70's songs I could use. I have magic carpet ride and painted black. Can anyone think of any others that won't make me feel dumb dancing too?
