Default will this damage my hair?

I'm black and i have hair that is about 5 inches past my shoulders but i want longer hair. I am talking to someone about sewing weft hair in, like with all my hair braided up and then sewn in. most black girls know it can be very difficult to grow our own hair long, so i am worried if this will really damage my hai when it is time for me to get it re done or take the extensions out. i cant afford great lengths right now.

I have a sewn in weave right now. It actually can help your hair grow..but you have to not let it be in for too long. Im getting mine re-done at the 2.5 month mark just to be sure. Get some hair stuff to calm the itchyness from the tightness. Itll be really tight for about a week.

CK should chime in here as to what kind of hair is good. I use a brand called Hollywood Hair...I like it but I want to try something different. Dont be afraid to ask questions about your hair to your stylist even if they seem dumb. My hair takes forever to grow too. Be prepared for your head to hurt though. Youll feel permanetly awake for a few days to a week. Sleep on a nylon pillow to keep the moisture in. Its helps keep my hair soft. Oh yea differnt lengths, different types of hair and half or full head weave will differ in cost.

sew ins are fine. make sure the baids are not too tight! I got mine done years ago and my stylist braided it so tight. When I took it out my edges came out with it!! I was pissed!!!! they help your hair to grow. keep your hair moisterized(sp). I use indian remi hair 22 inches.I forget the brand name. Also get your ends clipped before you get your sew in.
