    Smiley Audition shoes...

I have 2 pairs of shoes at home that I'm wondering..

Would these work or do I need to go out and buy a clear pair?

    Pair 1: by Delicious:
These are maybe 4in black plastic bottoms, platform, slightly padded. The slide part is beige/light gold shiny vinyl.

    Pair 2: by Candies
Around the same height, maybe 5in but no platorm. these make me feel more on the toes than the slides. Not really any padding.

Option 3 would be to go invest in a clear 6in pair of platforms with straps or a pair of boots (would prolly cost more).

Please let me know what you think! thanks!

What kind of club are you looking to audition at? Your second pair might be okay for a lower scale small club. But if you can afford it I would highly recomend going to a store and getting just a pair of 4 inch heels with straps, honestly when you first start dancing its best to have shoes with straps(around the ankle) just until you get steady in your shoes with your moves. Also some clubs have a 5 inch rule. I would find out from the club you want to audition at what their requirments are, if any.

Edited to add... I would avoid boots until you know your going to stick with it, they are costly. They are great but for a pair that are nice and will last your looking to spend around $200. You can get nice simple shoes(dont have to be clear) for $50 that have an ankle strap and good heal. Also make sure you have antislip pads on the toes of your shoes, without these you skate on stage(speaking from experiance).

    Good luck!

Trust me if you have the money buy some certified stripper shoes. Regular shoes will murder your feet. Remember to break in your new shoes before you go to the club.

I agree with TigersMilk, go buy some dancers shoes. They will be more comfortable and if you are serious about dancing you will need them anyway. I'm going to my first audition tomorrow, but I've visited several clubs and I always though that the platforms looked better than just regular heels. jsut my

Getting used to it will be easy and for some just takes time. Some clubs have a shoe height requirement so check with them 1st before you go buy shoes. If not then 5-6in is ok to start with. After 2-3 months I was dying for some 7inchers! I love my tall shoes.

You cant go wrong going and buying 5 inch heels.... get the platform in the toes with the ankle straps. Once your steady on them you'll be dying for higher ones. I swore id never go higher then 6 inches and im now dancing in 8 inch and LOVING them.

I've been dancing with my pair of Mudd sandal 4.5-inchers for a month and a half now, they came from a regular store and they're absolutely MARVELOUS on support. But I don't think they still make those. Damn fashion.

But if I were going to look for beginner shoes at a regular store, I'd start with that brand. Those suckers are the most ergonomic high heels I've found, and walk like the day I bought them!

^^ I know exactly what you mean. I am ADDICTED to my 8 inch heels.

No offense to anyone, but I always thought that it was kinda tacky for girls to wear regular street shoes and/or clothes in the club - it tends to stick out like a sore thumb. I guess if it works for ya - more power to ya. Stripper shoes and outfits are made specifically for us for a reason - they tend to look better in club lighting and last longer through the wear and tear of being put on and taken off a jillion times a night, several nights a week.

    Heaven,

believe me, I'd much rather invest in more sexy, professional and durable stripper shoes but only after I know the job is something I want to do.

That's why I posted these 2 potential pairs to see if they might be acceptable for an audition and a couple more nights after. I thought the slide platforms looked very similar to dancer shoes though not as high but still classy and not something I would wear out to go on a walk or something...

Oh well. I agree with you though, if you're going to do something, do it right!

I just don't know if I want to do it/ will enjoy it better than my part time job now for sure yet. (My current retail job pays almost nothing but still makes my feet hurt, I'd rather have em hurting for 200-300/night than 45/night!

From past expierience, you are better off investing in a good pair of shoes. I know they cost, but shoes make the difference between a smile and a frown, a good night or bad, and if your feet are killing you it will make it that much more likely that you will say screw it.
My favorite shoes now are cone platforms, they are so easy to walk in, and I'm not afraid the heel is gonna brake off.
Here are some web pages for them, I bought mine at wicked temptations, but I guess that sight doesn't really sell shoes as much any more:
    $47 http://www.funkyboutique.com/platformsandal.html
    $53 http://www.thereddoorstore.com/product_23914.html
    $63 http://www.flirtylingerie.com/6plwidostand.html
    $35 http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACK-6-BLACK-CO...QQcmdZViewItem
    $20 http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...p?id=A7981-RED

    $15 http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...p?id=SCOUT-SIL

Good square platforms are good also when new, I saw those for as low as $12 at the electricboutique.com store, just look, and you will be able to find a pair for under $25 with shipping.

Good luck with the first few days, enjoy them their tons of fun! FUN is the key.

    Ohhh!
Here you go price wise, if interested*grins* These are platforms.
    $4.99 http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...d=SHAKE-09-PEW
    ~and~ http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...d=A6901-LTBLUE ~and~ http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...AKE-11-BLKGLIT

    $8.99 http://www.electriqueboutique.com/sh...?id=BELLE-02-C

Their shipping is decent, especially if you buy more then one pair. UPS Ground (3-5 days) Continental US (1 pair)$8.50 (2p)$10.50 (3p)$12.50 (4p)$14.50(5p) $16.50

Now these probably won't last long, and the one pair looked a tad painful, but you can earn the price of em back in two lap dances, they'll look good, and support you decent..
Now wear the heck is my credit card? I really liked that one pair...dammit!
So thats a good platform, within a week, for $14 . Thats how you don't eat your profits in clothes.
BTW- The one pair has the year 2000 painted on them, I'd just glue on sequins or use fabric paint to cover that up.

I don't really think either of the pairs you currently have would be appropriate to dance in. The sandal is cute but really not made for dancing in. Since you said your retail job kills your feet I would make sure to find a pair that had a little padding. It makes more sense to part with $25 to wear the right kind of shoe. Even if you end up not sticking with it then you still have a sexy pair of shoes for a decent price.

Wow, Suzie! What a find! Thank you for that research. I thought the shoes were going to run 60-70 but under 30 is definately worth it for starting off on the right foot... nice pun.

Thanks also to everyone else, I'll let you know which pair I end up going for.

    I got my shoesies!

    Yay! I got my shoes!!!

The boots are great to walk in and look really nice, and the stillettos are goregeous but harder to maneuver in, I guess I'll have to practice. And I got a cute outfit and some skirts on ebay.

Even if I never end up auditioning, I love these shoes!!!

    Cheers
