    Default hair problems!?

I've been having problems with my scalp. It breaks out in like pimples and it leaves bald spots. Im really scared.
It started before I got pregnant. I had surgery and was completely under I hope the anesthic(sp?<--however u spell the word. didn't have anything to do with it also.
I just had a baby 10 months and 2 weeks ago. I've been stressed out and my nerves are totally shot. Ive been taking lexapro 10 mg everyday for panic attacks and anxiety.
Im thinking maybe all this is causing it.

Ive also been taking those walmart hair vitamins and i feel some results around some spots. I've used pert but i recently ran out haven't had time to go pick some up. Been using treseme(sp?)

Its just scary. I dont want this to happen again.

    And its quite embarrassing.
I was wondering if maybe this happen to anyone?

I dont even know who to go? Maybe a dermatogolist would no more? I dont know.

Please help if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!!!

    Jenn

I would go to a derm and see what the problem is.

I went to school with a guy who had alopecia (sp), and his hair fell out in clumps. I ran into him at the 10yr reuinion, and he looks totally different now. They got him on treatment, and it worked.

Definitely an issue for a dermatologist.

Perhaps a Derm. can tell you what is going on better than an OB.

However this before you had your baby, could be hormones, very common! Could be Post Partum Depression, common too which would make many physical things happen to your body! All these things can cause a major flare up perhaps.

Yes see a Dermetologist about your scalp.

    Good luck,

Make sure you let your derm know that you are taking Lexapro. I'm not sure what that is but when I was taking medication for bipolar disorder (btw I was misdiagnosed but that's another story), one of the side effects was your hair could fall out. I had to take extra magnesium and selenium to counteract that.

could be stress or hormones. I have PCOS which can make your hair fall out and that's a hormone thing. I've never had pimples though.

Do the pimples turn into scabs? If so, could be impetigo which is basically an infection of the skin that antibiotics will cure. Could also be folliculitis of the scalp. Alopecia is another probability.

I have heard that anesticia can also make your hair fall out but never heard of an association with sores or pimples.

you can go to a regular doctor ...im thinking the anxiety and stress along with the medication has caused this and plus you freaking out is adding to the mix....learn to relax and NOT WORRY ...eat healthy and get plenty of rest...your hair will grow back.

You don't need to worry but you DO need to get to the doctor. In the meantime... try to find some Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo. It is very tingly and helps to increase circulation to the scalp wich may flush out any toxins or bacteria causing the little pimples. I would not use a conditioner for a while if you can avoid it. Maybe substitute a leave-in spray like healthy sexy hair tri-wheat soy leave in treatment. This will make it easy to get a brush through it.

The tea tree should also help clear up the pimples as it acts as a "disinfectant" when applied topically.

Good luck and try to RELAX. Treat yourself to a salon or spa that offers a nice scalp treatment and maybe you can eliminate some stress.

I think my problem is my thick hair. I have to use alot of conditioner just to make it go all over my hair and it takes forever to rinse out i have to stay in the shower an extra 20 minutes to rinse.
I eat a healthy diet. Mainly vegetables and chicken. Water to drink. Sometimes I drink root beer.

Thank you all for posting it means alot.
I have an appointment next friday to see a derm.

It sounds like it could be Seborrheic Dermatitis or Folliculitis or even possibly Ringworm.
