    Lightbulb Brazilian Wax Anyone?

Hey yawl. Has anyone tried the Brazilian wax versus a regular wax? I am kind of scared about the reaction of the wax on my skin. I've read some articles that darker skin does not react well to getting a bikini wax, let alone a Brazilian one. I am leaving to Cali soon to do a photo shoot and I want my P**sy to look really pretty. What do you recommend. I usually just shave it down and cut it but it never gets that smooth baby soft look that porn stars have. If you have any suggestions, please elaborate. Thank you.

VIP of the Brazillian wax club. Member since Nov 2003. I have really dark skin and haven't had a bad reaction to the wax at all. I love it. Get wax, hair free for about 3 weeks. I use the naturally smooth lotion from Jergens. Way better than shaving. Give it a go!

*Fair warning, the first few times you go it will hurt....a lot....*

I give myself waxes. It's a roll-on formula by the One Touch brand. I am a hardass.

You have to do it at least 3 times to adjust (the pain isn't so bad one you do it at least twice). Make sure you do it every 3 weeks, if you go much longer, it'll be like starting over. I have dark skin and I loved the way it was so soft afterwards (felt like velvet when it was growing back). I eventually stopped though because i got a lot of ingrown hairs. Plus, I went too long between waxes once and ended up bleeding and in a ton of pain after the next one. I decided to stop then, and now I'm back to shaving. I might start waxing again in a few months

One thing though: make sure you go to a good place, like a spa or something. Yes, it costs more, but IMO it comes out better than going to the "drive by" waxers (nail salons, hair salons). Plus the atmosphere is a bit more relaxing

Got a brazillian ONE time. It drove me nuts having to grow it out first -ewwww, I felt nasty! The procedure hurt like crazy, but I felt it would be worth it.....
For the first few days I thought it was the greatest thing ever; I felt silky soft and the area was very sensitive for a few days - which I liked.

Then, REALITY hit - prickly where some of the hair broke off instead of coming out, random stray hairs that were either missed or in a different growth cycle, insane ingrown hairs no matter how much I exfoliated, my mons itched like a mofo, and worse yet I had noticable stubble half way through the second week after!

I've been told that it takes a few times, & maybe it wasn't a good job, so I tried to grow it out, but I just couldn't do it! The scraggly look just doesn't cut it for me, esp for such a short "grace period". Think I'll keep my razor!

I got a Brazialian wax a number of times at a spa/salon. I loved it, but when I started dancing at an all nude place I had to start shaving again because growing it out would look gross! Also, I am a total wuss--can't stand shots at the hospital--and I didn't think it was too bad. Didn't feel good, but was worth the pain. For a photo shoot I'd think it would be worth it.

regarding dark skin: Laser hair removal is the one you should be weary of - dark skinned people aren't candidates for laser, but Waxing is great if you can handle the pain... and once the hair starts growing back you only need a few days for it to be long enough to wax

    Just got back from one!

It's worth the money, and really there isn't much pain. I got my eyebrows done at the same time, and they're the ones throbbing right now.

BTW... if anyone in Tucson needs a good waxer (also hair and nails) let me know!

Oh yea, they should use tweezers afterwards to get out the hairs that they missed. After the pain from the waxing, the tweezing isn't so bad. Make sure they sterilize them first though (usually with rubbing alcohol)

You don't get nervous using Nair down there? Does it burn? Or do you just do the outer bikini area?

I have my man wax it for me. It's fun. He also tweezes out the ingrown hairs. I'm not super hairy(I have native blood in me), but waxing sure beats shaving. I use sally hanson ready waxed strips., but I'm thinking of getting a roll on waxer. Nads doesn't work, and neither does the peel away no strip bees wax hair removal items.
If the person doing your hair doesn't pay attention to the hair growth patters and rips it off at the wrong angle you will have broken off hairs and ingrown hairs. A good wax will take out the root, and make the hair grow back finer. It takes six weeks for hair to grow back after the root is taken, but it takes probably 4 waxes every two weeks to get the growth cycle down.
Once someone waxes properly(or is waxed), they won't go back to shaving. A smooth waxed twat is like having boob skin down there. *grins* its nice. Soft, silky.
Also, when you go to a proper salon to get it done, they have spray that numbs the area. Just bring a book to read, it'll be mind over matter, no prob.
For the complete brazillion, start in the back and go forward, as its the hair at the top of the bikini area that is most sensative.

I am a long time waxer (over 10 years now). The way my hair in my bikini zone/area grows back is that I usually have 'on top' growing back much sooner than anything below. The way I work around all this is to not have a full bikini / brazillian wax and instead just get the top bit done and any other bits that need doing. Sometimes I have the luxury of allowing it all to grow back and hence have it all done at the same time however most of the time it is a case of doing 'bits' at a time.

I am stead-fastly loyal to one beautician (waxer) and so when I travel away from home and it is starting to grow back... I use some wax strips to get the main zones and on top whilst allowing the hair on my lips to grow back (or I use tweezers since my hair is so weak it doesn't hurt).

It's not as as alot of girls are making it out to be.. and I only have ever worked full nude... shaving is the worst for me. I swear by waxing.

Well... I got it done, and it hurt like hell. I think I used every curse word known to woman. But was it worth it? Every second. I l;ove how smooth my coochie is and it looks sooo cute. I was told that I have to keep it up every two to three weeks. I put some ice on the area to numb it down because the throbbing was killing me. But I have a photo shoot in LA and I wanted to look my best. I think it was worth the pain, however, it will no be something that I will do all the time.

Yikes, I have dark thicker hair....don't think I would like it waxed. I would like to get it lasered some day. I have to shave almost everyday.

How do you girls let it grow out while you are working? How long does the hair have to be to get it waxed again? I mean once the hair reappears again, you are still dancing/stripping until its long enough to be waxed? And ladies who are getting the Brazilian at a salon/spa, do they use the soft wax with cloth strips for that, or a hard wax with no cloth strips??

I went for a Brazilian once (and posted of the experience here, using phrases such as "oh dear god") and it hurt so bad I couldn't believe it. I have been pierced, tattooed, scarred and had cigarettes put out on my stomach and back and never experienced such pain. I understand it gets better, and I did love the result - like I LOVED the result. But jesus. I couldn't face it again. A girlfriend who went with me, though, said it wasn't so bad for her. It depends on your skin and stuff - I was bleeding out of all my little follicle places.

Brazilian waxing can be done by either a honey wax with strips, or a poetic waxing system which is usually infused with lavendar so it's more calming to the skin. The poetic doesn't require a strip and I think it is more effective for getting the itty bitty hairs that NEVER come out with the strip wax.

You can always opt to wax yourself at home. It's what I do, however, my mom is an aestetician and I am a hair stylist so I have been exposed to waxing since... forever and I am familiar with the tequniques and such.
