    Smiley My first night!

[So I am absolutely wrecked from last night, everything hurts and I can't feel my toes!! I made almost $700 but!! It was super busy and I just smiled and tried to seem confident, there were some really nice girls who helped me out which was great. Customers and Dancers kept saying I looked too innocent to be working there but it seemed to work in my favour so yay! I made a lot more money off the stage than I thought I would and seemed to get dances this way.

Today I am so exhausted but I'm glad I didn't drink cause then I would be even worse. They asked me to go in tonight again..... So any suggestions to pull myself together physically between now and then??

A huge cappachino and 3 ibuprofins. It's going to hurt like hell, but it will be worth it. After the first two weeks you'll probably have lost at least one pants siz, and you will be used to the work out.
    Congratulations, and hot damn!
Keep up the good work, and don't beat yourself up if you don't always make that amount.
Don't forget to save the money also! If nothing else buy a couple savings bonds.

My first few weeks I was so sore. For sore muscles use icy hot-it feels really good. Drink lots of water to stay hydrated, and stretch before work so your muscles aren't tight.

Hot showers and much ibuprofin. I have arthritis which makes my knees go nuts, but LUCKILY my mom has this nifty little plan that pays for numbing cream.
Anyways, massaging the area, hot baths, stretching.... YOGA is good if you do it really lightly. Haha good luck hon! And great job!

Epsom salt soaks for sore feet are wonderful.

Remember to do warm up excerices before work (or while in the dressing room before you 'hit the floor') and cool down exercises after work. Warm/hot showers work wonders... an epson salt bath is the best! Take some pain killers that are non-drowsy.

The stretching (warm up and cool down exercises) will do wonders for you and is something you should work into your pre and post work routines as early as you can (so it become habit).

It hurts like hell because you didn't prepare your body. Plus it is a case of something your body will get used to after a short period.

A big pat on the back for your first night! Congratulations!!

GAWD... does this remind me of my first nights sooooo long ago! Makes me feel old... GRIN.

All I can say is "yes" to what everyone has said to the above. My only .02 is don't wear yourself out, give your body and yourself some adequate time to rest so you can physically and mentally recover. You can burn yourself out real quick if you don't. Do your best to stay away from alcohol... this will only dehydrate you, and as you now know you sweat like crazy when you dance, so water, water, water! ;-)

Yep, it is like working out in the gym, you are going to be sore. Try and stretch those legs, and hip muscles everyday. Warm up as much as possible, and remember the heels don't do much good for your back, knees, hips... and so on. So if you can get away with it, try to wear the heels as little as possible when ever you can. Less wear and tear on your body!

    You go girl!

    Hugs,
    Kat

CONGRATULATIONS! So great to hear you had such a terrific first night! Your body should be able to handle work without getting sore in a week or so. Glad you didn't drink, don't fall into that trap. Give us an update! Have you been back, how'd it go etc.?
