    Default pole grip

Sorry if this has already been covered I did search in the personal pole info section but I couldnt find what I need to know. Iv got an X-Pole made of stainless steel and im finding it so difficult to grip. Im going to try and wipe it down with vodka but is that enough?i also get really sweaty hands quite easily, i keep wiping them with a towel but thats not enough. I tried spraying hairspray on my hands (tip from another dancer) but that didnt help. Iv noticed the pole at work is a lot grippier, it seems a bit thinner and is old and covered in scratches so Its actually easier to use even though it doesnt look as good as mine. Any ideas or tips??xxx

try rubbing alcohol on your hands and the pole. it takes off grease and sweat... I know that there are some poles, I'm not sure how to really describe them, but they're harder to grip than others. This may sound stupid, but the silver poles that I can't see my reflection in (if that makes any sense ) is how I usually describe it to other people. Anyway, those are usually harder to grip than the others

I wipe down my pole with glass cleaner and a clean hand towel a couple of times a month and I take a clean damp towel to it before each use.

I also make sure wash my hands before working out on the pole. Doing that gets rid of any hand cream residue that I may have on my hands. In addition, I will sometimes wipe down my legs too because I am a big lotion user.

If that is still not enough, you might try some of the grip stuff that tennis players use.

There is (apparently) a varnish-type-thing you can paint on to non-grippy poles to make them grippy. That's as much as I know- google, maybe?

I was about to say use a resin bag that baseball players use. But the tennis stuff works too.

You will find out that brass is easier to grip than steel.

When I wipe down the pole at work I have the bartender put a little well gin on the rag, then I clean it. Not only does it get rid of the grease, it also disinfects it.

Yeah, you can also get some med grit sand paper and scratch it up a little to get a better grip.

Or if you are just at home, wear some gloves, to get a better grip.

I used to see a lot of girls use grip chalk from gymnastics stores. Same stuff they use on uneven bars.

I wouldn't recommend grip chalk. It leaves a residue on everything and it doesn't come off without washing. Get "Dry Grip". It's a gel and you rub it into your hands...dries the palms and doesn't leave any residues.

I posted the link several times on the site. I'll see if I can find the link again.
