so, i know it sucks right now, but do you think it'll be worse for a couple months after christmas? with everybody paying off their bills from christmas?

God, I hope not![]()

It shouldn't be.January is the "recovery" month after the holidays and there will be people in the clubs.Everyone is gearing up for spring time conventions at that time also.

Also, don't forget about tax returns, year-end bonuses, Christmas bonuses (which usually don't get handed out until right before Christmas), etc.

The best week I had last year was the week between Christmas and New Years... I was making almost twice a night than I typically make.... I am SO looking forward to it!
jan. is HORRIBLE in florida. at least the first 2-3 weeks. this winter hasnt been that great so far so im assuming jan will be worse..... sorry
Good to know, Audrey. I'm going out of town to work that week. I hope the trip at least pays for itself, but I'd REALLY hope I can come home with $1000 or so beyond that!
$1000? Where are you working? How many nights? When I worked in Sacramento at the DIVE of all DIVE bars I was bringing home $600-700 a night that week.... Thats much more than $1000 for a trip. Curious where in LA you work if its worth traveling for $1000? When I work at the Body Shop on Sunset I party until around 1am and work 1a-4a and bring home at least $400... but then again if youve seen the girls there.... ugh!
No, I *live* in L.A. I'm travelling to Oregon. I'm glad to hear that the $1000 take-home for the week won't be a problem! (And I meant after the expense of the trip, which should be several hundred for gas, motel, food, etc.)
I was working at this shitty club downtown where $300 was an unbelievably great night. I'm not currently dancing in L.A. - it's simply not worth the hassle right now and I'm working 80 hours a week at my regular job.
January in NYC is usually pretty sucky. Now, the month before is bananas, you'd think LD's were for free! It's crazy in here! Girls walking out with 2-3K a night! It's so crazy....
Then January hits and it's pretty dead. Everyone is spent out and hungover. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that it is FREEZING here that month. In December it's cold too, but you tend to forget about it a little more with all the holly jolly -ness going on throughout the city.
Don't get me wrong, there's still money to be made, but it's not falling out of the money tree.
In January, people in NYC tend to take vacations. A lot of people go to Europe or warmer regions. That's just the way it is. brrrr.....it's like, 19 degrees out today!

Damn of course im out of town the week between xmas and new years... i figured it would be fairly dead so I was safe to take it off. My body needs the vacation. Oh well I hope January things pick up here.

It just depends on where you are working. There is no blanket answer to that question. The week between Christmas and New Years is iffy, but you may have a decent night in the mix, and whatever you make is better than nothing, right? LOL.

it's been hard to predict lately how busy it will be,but I figure the northeast area will slow down in january,so I'm taking a 2 week vacation.
i'm in california and it is horrible right now with a good shift here and there. but then california isn't the best money no matter what time of year....![]()
