    Sad Hot Knees!!!

Last night, when we were tipping out, I sat down and put my hands on my knees. My knees were HOT! So hot, that I asked a girl to touch them. She was like, "oh shit, you're knees are hot! I hope you don't have fluid on them"

How do I prevent fluid from getting fluid on my knees?!!!!!

Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

hate to tell you this but...

you have to stay off them.

Fluid build up on joints is usually due to "wear and tear". Little peices of the bone scrape off and dissipate into fluid.

I'm not sure if "hot knees" are an effect of this but it's worth looking into. You may have a little something going on in there and you probably should see an orthopoedist. Can't hurt. (well, yes it can if they try to drain it. Just be a big girl!!!)

    Some quick fixes:
Wrap Ace Bandages around them before going to bed, to gradually press some of the fluid out.
Soak in a hot Epsom salt bath (2-4 cups to the tub) frequently- the salts draw fluid out of your tissues, so drink water afterwards
Massage your knees- sounds weird but it will stimulate drainage (don't move the kneecap around, though)

Sadly, women's knees wear more easily due to our body shape & center of gravity. But, with TLC, you can reduce the wear.

My knees are fucked from this job--all that crawling on stage. Unfortunately, knees do not heal well, there's just not a good blood supply to the ligaments and tendons. It may be fluid, it may be a tear resulting in inflammation. If it's both knees, probably not a tear. That's GOOD. Stay off of them. I tore a ligament in my right knee, the one I used most to push off, and then I tore my left. It sucked! I couldn't do any floor work for the last year. Try icing them between sets. Knee injuries are just bad news for any physical job.

Hotness can be a sign of inflammation, or a sign of the knee trying to heal itself from an injury or from being overworked. Take advil to help inflammation go down and ice/heat your knees. If you use ice, make sure you don't leave it on for longer than 20 minutes, and make sure to use a heating pad after icing your knee if you are going to be doing any activity. You don't want to do a lot of activity after icing your knee because your knee will be stiff from the cold and you could injure it.
