    Default Nail Question... ouchhh

Ok so about 4 days ago I dropped a bunch of bowls onto my fake nails. The nail underneath it fell off but it took about another 3 days for the acrylic and real nail to finally come off. It came off last night and it hurts sooooo bad. The area where the nail was is bright red. I've been putting neosporin on it constantly. But I dont know what else to do... Does it sound like everything will be ok, and has anyone had a similiar situation to this?
Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Yes,everything will be OK.You just need to wait for the healthy new nail to grow back.It will grow back, don't worry.

aww i m sorry that happened to you. I opened a steel door onto my toe a few months ago and pretty much the same thing happened with my big toe, it was soooooo ugly. It takes a long time to grow back too. My nail is still only about halfway but it is healthy now so I got a fake nail with acrylic put onto it. lol I have tips on my toes! I wouldnt try to glue anything onto it though, not until something is growing there. Once the exposed area heals maybe you could wear some press ons for work.

I wouldn't put ANYTHING on your nail. It needs to breathe to heal properly.

Besides, I had a friend who did the same thing and just let it be. She got asked what happened relentlessly at work...and a lot of the guys tipped better out of sympathy.

I slammed my fingers in the door and 2 acrylics along with the real nail came off... well, one came off the doctor had to pull the acrylic/real nail off the other one... painful

They just put some neosporin and a band aid on one and wrapped the other finger up like a damn mummy it was bleeding so bad...but once the bleeding stopped it was neosporin and band aids...after about a week i took the band aids and let them air out so they would heal faster....

Thats a horrible pain - could feel a throb in my fingers everytime my heart beat... my sympathies!

I bent my pinkie nail, real and acrylic, all the way up. It stood dtraight up at the cuticle. Pain so bad I nearly fainted. I thouhgt I would be ok since the nail went back down, put a bandaid on it and went about my bussiness.

It started throbbing bad and wine will only take care of so much pain. By the third day my hand started to hurt a bit and the throbbing was constant. I ended up in the emergancy room. I had a severe infection that required antibiotics and I got pain killers and three days out of work. (Not to mention a big bill since i don't have insurance!)

The treatment for it was real easy, I had to soak it in hot water every hour for 15 minutes. It healed enough after a couple of days that I could take the acrylic off but i lost my entire natural nail. Finally after almost three months I'll be able to get another put on so I'll have 10 pretty fingers!

I would suggest going to the doctor, especailly if it hurts and because of the risk of infection. If I had waited any longer the infection could have spread.

    Good luck and take care!

They made Pamila Anderson out to be a big cry-baby when Tommy Lee busted off her nail and she called the cops. I guess it really did hurt as badly as she said. Hmmm.
