I have a really gnarly surgical scar that runs from the bottom of my sternum to about an inch above my navel. I've used Mederma on it for almost a year, and it has faded and gotten less sensitive, but is still very angry-looking. The wound was closed with staples, and they left scars too, so the whole thing has a wierd zipper-like appearance. When I dance, I wear corsets or waist cinchers to cover it. That's worked well so far -- occasionally something will slip and a customer will see it, but nobody's acted too grossed out by it so far.
I'd love to know if anyone has succesfully had a scar reduced or removed. Apparently there's a laser surgery that reduces the blood vessels present in the scar, "starving" it into becoming smaller. Anyone know anything about this? Other scar reduction tips? Thanks!!
