...for awful Christmas songs! What's your least favorite?
Personally, I hate any version of "Jingle Bell Rock," and the Chipmunks Christmas song.

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town"
He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good... that is the stuff of nightmares...

Personally, being Jewish, I actually enjoy a lot of Christmas music. Sure there's a LOT of bad stuff out there, but there's a lot of great Christmas music too. Most people don't even know it but the majority of Christmas music was actually written by jews. For example:
O Holy Night - Adolphe Adam
Christmas Song (Chestnuts On An Open Fire) - Mel Torme'
Polar Express - Chris Van Allsburg
White Christmas - Irving Berlin
Music for "The Grinch" - Albert Hague
Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer - Johnny Marks
Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Johnny Marks
Let It Snow - Sammy Cahn
Silver Bells - Ray Evans
...All Jews. Even a recent Christmas album was put out by the Barenaked Ladies with a few Hanukkah songs. Why? Their lead singer, Steven Page, is Jewish.

We Jews have never missed an opportunity to cash in on Christmas, have we?
I used to love it when I worked in jobs that would pay me double time for working on December 25. Woohoo! I don't care what the "South Park" kid says, sometimes it's great to be a Jew on Christmas.

I LOVE that song from Southpark. The best song on their Christmas album was "Christmas Time In Hell" though. A true holiday classic.

Any of the "old standards" drive me insane.
I did find a series of CD's called "Merry Axemas" which I love. Some really good guitarists did a couple albums of instrumentals. Brain Setzer, Stu Hamm, Joe Perry, Ted Nugent, Al DeMiola... etc. Also, if you can find "Ho, Ho, Hoey" which is one of Gary Hoey's Christmas albums.
In the "new classic" category, anyone remember "Christmas at Ground Zero" by Weird Al Yankovic? It's about a nuclear war on Christmas Day. Woohoo!

I personally love the Bob Rivers Xmas albums. But as for "most hated", I'm gonna have to go with Madonna's version of "Santa Baby". Every single year for the 6 years I was at Delilah's, a group of girls did a routine to that song. Which meant that I had to hear it about 150 times during rehearsals and such every year. It makes my skin crawl. Follow that up with Mariah "Look I can squeak like a dolphin" Carey's "All I Want For Xmas Is You", for exactly the same reasons. ::shudder::
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
I hate the Hall and Oates "Jungle Bell Rock" with a prticular loathing. Though Jessica Simpson's album may eclipse it for my most hated part of the holidays.
but then again my favorite chirstmas album is "A Very Scary Solstice" so my opinion may be a bit skewed.
scary solistice album
We can move with savage grace to the rhythms of the night
Cool and remote like dancing girls, in the heat of the beat and the lights
merry Axemas vol 2 is every bit as good, as well as vol 2 of ho ho hoey!Originally Posted by wakko0129
