    Default I'm back...

So sorry to remain absent for so long, everyone.

I will be getting a laptop in the next few days with wireless capacity, so Djoser will again be a regular contributor. Special thanks to Blade and Juliette de Sade for taking up the slack--not that much trouble ever rears any ugly head(s) in here.

I have found a lot of great new music due to my having been back in the saddle as a DJ for nearly a year now. God knows I missed it but a break probably wasn't such a bad idea.

I have many tales of strange and terrible things to tell, both here and the other forums, but that will have to wait a bit longer until I get the new comp.

I have missed you all and this forum very much indeed.

    hi Djoser,
I'm happy you come back :-)

I discovered this forum last summer, when I was looking for some songs to workout and I really like people here, music you talk about and there are a lot of nice posts.

I have a lot of questions about some songs in your old posts. I have a sort of a list of your suggestions in various treads.
I bought a lot of used cds, or downloaded from iTunes, and love to listen a lot of them :-) *** Thank-You! ***
Please help me to locate the following songs you suggested and forgive my broken english (I'm Italian)

    ---
Closer (Trance Remix) Nine Inch Nails & Static X 5.41
I downloaded it from soulseek 128 kbps, I liked it a lot - so I would like to buy it. Any idea where it comes from ?
    ---
Aphromoods - Aphrodite 3.08 Chemical Brothers Remix
I also downloaded it from soulseek:
is this the version of the song you suggested?
this version seems have some "f**k" as lyrics, maybe it's a fake/damaged ?
... anyway the question was: you suggested the version from the cd "Aphrodite Recordings" or the remix from "Chemical Reaction"?
    ---
Annie Lennox - Little Bird (DJ R Fresh remix) ???
I cannot found the remix you suggested, do u have any more information help me to locate it? This is my 2nd Annie Lennox' fav song :-) 1st is "Money can't buy it", do u know any good remix?
    ---
Filter - Take a Picture (Hybrid remix)
I really love this remix ! 8:09 minutes- How do u suggest to start into ?
    ---
Marilyn Manson - Lunchbox (remix) ?
I downloaded from iTunes these remixes:
    Lunchbox - Brown Bag (remix)
Lunchbox - Metal (remix)(Charlie Clouser) <-- my fav
    Lunchbox (Next Motherf*****)(Charlie Clouser)

    what's the remix you suggested?
    ---
    Portishead - Strangers (remix) ?

    what's the remix you suggested?
    ---
You listed 3 songs by Balligomingo:
"Heat" <-- I really like it
    "Lust" <-- good
"Monsoon" ??? <--- cannot found it, what album cd ?
    ---
    Delerium - Flowers
what's the song you spoken about? Because you said to start 2 minutes into, so I think it's not "Flowers Become Screens" 4:22.
    ---

More Thanks In Advance for any help & kindness !

    ciao

Oh wow TankGirl...I will try to answer these questions as well as I can, but first let me make a few suggestions on the general topic.

Later--oops, I thought this was a different thread, I moved this part to http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58659

    OK, TankGirl, here we go...

I DLed my Static-X "Closer" when up north, and burned it in a hurry while trying to get out of a rather unpleasant situation. I have no idea where to buy it, sorry to say--but I bet one of our other members will know--sorry! Maybe try a discography search for Static-X, or some similar search on google?

"Aphromoods", the one I have, is from "Chemical Reaction".

If you like techno at all and you love Annie Lennox, you will fucking love the R-Fresh remix of "Little Bird"! I got it from the R-Fresh CD called ""Beats and Breakdowns". Unfortunately I saved only the very front cover, and bought it for 1$ (!) at a pawn shop, so have little way of finding out more about it. There is a website printed on the CD:"www.freshproductions.com". The Cd is at least five years old, but he put out another one recently, so it may still be a good website.

I don't know about any remixes of the other song, but I bet there's at least one out there. The trouble is, much as I love remixes, most of them aren't very good--like maybe one of ten is good, and one of fifty or so is really hot. Good luck and let us know if you find a good one!

"Take a Picture" has to be cued fairly well into it, but I forget exactly where--I will get back to that one.

I prefer the "Brown Bag" remix of "Lunchbox", but the others are close seconds--to each their own. It depends on the girl onstage and the crowd. "Metal" will work better if it's a dancer or crowd that likes the metal sound. Incidentally, that one got me in a very minor bit of trouble the other night, lol...one of the two owners is not too fond of the harder edge stuff, and asked me not to play it. So I play it on the nights he's not there, since the other owner and the manager have never complained about it. I tend to save that song for later at night when the younger, wilder crowd is there.

Um, whoops, I don't recall mentioning "Strangers", but that may have been one of those that I had burned in a hurry up there and never wrote down the name of the artist or the track, lol. I have several songs from those CDs I play on a regular basis, and if anyone asked me who did it, I'd be like, "who the hell knows, but it's great, ain't it?".

When I get back on Limewire, I'll be looking for it--but I am spending tonight getting back into the StripperWeb groove.

I don't know which CD "Monsoon" came from, one of our members suggested Balligomingo about 2-3 years back, and I got everything I could from Kazaa at that time. Since then I have found some great techno remixes of their stuff (especially a couple versions of "Rain"), and some shitty ones, but again it's that stuff I burned in a hurry.

The "Flowers Become Screens" I had DLed is actually about 8 minutes long, but there are probably edited versions out there. Since then I have acquired the Delerium CD called "Semantic Spaces", on which it and some other really great stuff can be found. My favorite Delerium remix is their version of Sarah McLaughlin's "Silence", though--but that's me.

    "Who are you?"--posted by Blade

As moderator I am obliged to point out, even to such a worthy and respected fellow moderator as yourself, that this statement would benefit greatly from italicization and profane embellishment, such as this:

    "Who the fuck are you?"

or "Who the fuck are you?"

or perhaps "Who the fuck are you?"

or probably most effective and appropriate of all, "Who the fuck are you?"

P.S. I may be calling on you to get your ass out here, if much more violence is in the offing. I've taken to carrying a roll of nickels with me at all times, but I might be able to use someone like yourself to get my back if much more of this bullshit keeps happening, lololol. Up for it?

I'm kidding around, but your friendship is appreciated, Blade.

    Djoser,

Great! I appreciate a lot your help :-)
(I don't know how to say this in English, literally You light my day! (it's right?)
    And also Amazon & iTunes thank-you! :-D

I quote some part of your post to the "remixes" thread, I hope it's ok.
    ---
    >>> Annie Lennox - Little Bird (R-Fresh remix) "Beats and Breakdowns"
None seems to have this song on sharing net.
And it's not cataloged on Amazon (.com .co.uk .de)
I'm really curious to listen it
do you use soulseek? May u share it?
    ---
    >>> "Flowers Become Screens" "Semantic Spaces"
Got it! Wonderful intro .. Yes, I had an 'edit' and I did not know it :-)
    ---
    >>> My favorite Delerium remix is their version of
    >>> Sarah McLaughlin's "Silence", though--but that's me.
    I agree!
I'm mad about this song from Bounce Soundtrack
    (it was the Delerium version)
Sincerally to me it's pure extasy.
Have u read 'Nick Hornby - 31 songs'? Great book, but different taste of music. Anyway when I read about how he feel God in a song (his song was 'one may guy' by rufus wainwright), I thinked that I feel exactly the some about "Silence".

Sometimes I like also to listen a different remix "Sanctuary Remix" by Fade 11:11, but the delerium version remains my favorite.

My 2nd fav by Delerium is 'Terra Firma'
I have the "Lara's Remix" on Tomb Raider Soundtrack, almost the original, I prefer it because it cutted the intro
    ---

well, I have one more question:
    who's blade?

I would love to send it to you--how does Soulseek work?

If I'm in the right mood, Terra Firma is my favorite, especially with the right girl onstage.

I will never forget when a woman I used to be in love with visited me the first time--I was subbing for another DJ, didn't really have a grip on the situation (I didn't know any of the dancers or what they liked, and in this club, that's a problem, lol), it was a slow night, and there were mostly a bunch of lowlifes and Daytona punk/studboys too cool or stupid to pay attention to the stage. In one of the more stunning performances I have ever seen (even though it wasn't really her kind of music), she had them all slack-jawed and speechless.

I haven't read that book, but it sounds intriguing, can you tell us more about it?
