Wow, that is bad. Hell we are open Christmas Eve night! So the girls that do work on Sat, won't be home until Christmas morning. (It sucks if you ask me, lol)

Are there any other clubs that you can go to for a week or so?

clubs here are very snarky about their dancers- thers only 3 club in auckland- and you cannot work at two of them at the same time. so if i went to on e of the other club for the two weeks, technically, i will have to hand in my notice, to recieve my bond money back ($500) go to the other club, start paying bond, then hand in my notice, get my bond back, then re apply at my old club, pay my bond... its just a dman mission to be bothered doing, and even if i did, my club could still say no to accepting me back, for going to the opposition.

Wow that seems like a long time to close.. strange. Usually it's the other way around, clubs never want to close. And to think I was silently bitching about having to work Xmas Eve Day...

That really sucks about not being able to switch clubs as well I would take Blondelock's advice.. private parties?

yeah, our manager got the shits with paying staff (bar etc) double pay, and giving them a day off in lieu. so he figured hed save more money if we were just closed.

Can't you travel to another part of the country and work for a while, like a working vacation?

I used to do that all the time. Go take a week or two off from my home club and pick a state and go there and work. I don't as much now due to having a school aged child, but I still do al least once a year.

Is that maybe an option for you?

Whilst close it still would cost her to work over here. It's an option however the clubs over here are pretty packed as it is as well with girls (from what I have heard). The private party route is only profitable if a dancer is willing to do XXX shows (from what I have experienced this past month).

Also, she would have to have a valid working visa ... and if she didn't... no go really.

The only viable place IMO would be Melbourne and even then I can see all the clubs being packed full of dancers right now (making their chrissy money and what-not). Australia suffers from the 'too many dancers' syndrome as well (however I personally still feel that if you have the hustle you will do well more often than not in any club).

    See I didn't know that.

I thought that you guys (the countries) were interchangeable on stuff like that. Almost like and "open boarders" thing for aussies and zealanders to work in their oppsite respective countries w/o any documents except for a DL or birth cert.

Sorry Mer, didn't mean to hound ya so much about it; I honestly didn't know.
